Hi, everybody. I've been interested in lucid dreaming for many years now, but I've never had success with it. I've kept dream journals on and off through the years, and I've had good success with them, but I've only had a single lucid dream: the one that made me interested in the whole topic. For the last 6 months or so, I've kept a journal pretty regularly, and I've recorded lots of dreams - but still no lucid dreams. In an attempt to keep myself motivated, and maybe to get some helpful comments, I thought I'd start posting my dreams here.

Dream 1: I'm cleaning the windshield of an SUV. It seems to be covered in a thick layer of congealed grease / fat. I'm using a wiper to scrape the stuff off and fling it on the ground. Someone comes up and says how dirty the car still is, but I point to all the stuff on the ground I've already gotten off. Dream 2: Something about a van with spy equipment. It's driving around, and there's an old guy on a scooter who talks to the people in the van. Something about a hatch? Dream 3: Something about a lottery and dice. We're walking in a hall, talking about the lottery, and someone decides there's just no way to win and drops his die. It lands with 5 up, which was one of the digits in the winning lottery number. Dream 4: Something about indoor skiing. I'm on a ramp leading to the main ski slope, but I have to wait for a light to change before I can start. I can't seem to keep in the right place - I slide down onto the slope, then manage to get back onto my ramp - but I go much too far back up the ramp. People are getting annoyed with me. Dream 5: I'm in a bedroom. B keeps coming in to say something. I wish she would stop coming in so I could sleep. Dream 6: I'm in England. I go through a passport checkpoint with my group: I flash my passport at a scanner, and the gate opens. Once through, I do something with my group. As we're returning from whatever we did, I try to go back through the checkpoint. The light changes, showing it's reading my passport OK, but the gate won't open for me. The gate guard is very friendly and helpful. She tries to get the gate to open for me, and eventually she takes the scanner apart to try to find out what's wrong.

Dream 1: I'm on a school bus. It gets back to school and starts unloading. When it's almost empty, the next batch of kids starts to come in. They try to come down the left side of the stairs and isle, but it's far too narrow for people to go both ways, and they end up causing problems with the kids trying to leave the bus. Dream 2: I'm eating Danish pastries. One is either strawberry or raspberry; the other is either cheese or apple. Dream 3: Some kind of game? Someone is trying to escape from somewhere - there are lots of stone platforms he's moving on. He ends up falling down an endless pit, but he manages to catch himself before falling too far. He's in a very different area now. He decides to fall again, hoping to get somewhere better. A large spiky thing falls right behind him, chasing him. Every time he jumps again, the spiky thing is closer behind him. Eventually, he falls into a cavern of some sort. Other people are there. Dream 4: I'm with a group of guys. We're going to a computer lab at school, and it's deep in a secured area. DN and TB are with me. I have my new laptop. I boot it up, then start up an XP VM. Some administrator comes in wanting to know what OS I'm running, since only Windows computers are allowed here. Since I just booted the XP VM, I show it to him as proof I'm running Windows. Right then, the VM crashes. Very strange things happen - bizarre title bars and buttons - and he knows that I'm not really running Windows. He confiscates my laptop battery, then ends up taking the whole laptop, saying he'll keep it for a week. I'm furious. Now I'm sitting at a table with other people. Someone (a girl?) comes in with some story, but everyone warns her not to tell it with me around in my current mood. Dream 5: I'm looking at a research summary. It's something about mathematical methods for lucid dreaming that work very quickly. Their paper is nearly finished, but they're looking for more people to run their simulation. They'll be included in an appendix. I think it's very odd to be asking for so much at this late stage just to put it in the appendix. Dream 6: Someone is trying to gather a group to produce StarGate. JP is chosen, among others. After shooting a scene in which they come back through the gate, JP asks what they're doing -- he still has no idea what StarGate is about. Dream 7: I'm out in a field of corn. Something's not right. We see a train coming along and notice that part of its cargo is glowing blue. There are also some ears of corn in the field with the same glow. When the train reaches the field, the infected corn jumps aboard. Then, many stalks in the field become infected with the blue glow. Also, Captain Janeway and Tom Paris are infected and turn into half-human corn stalks. The rest of us are trying to figure out how to save them. Some want to go back down the train tracks, but the rest of us are concerned that could result in more infections. Now we're in a house, in a long kitchen type area. Lots of old equipment is laying around, not connected. Somehow, we know the answer to the problem is in here. While someone tries to make ice in the microwave, I work with someone else to connect the ice maker to some sort of water pump. We're excited when the first cube pops out, though it's brown from all the dirt in the system. Dream 8: I'm leaving a house on a hill. I was in a back room somewhere. [When I think of the house, I think "tea house."] Notes: I probably haven't seen Voyager since the late 90's.

Dream 1: I'm at home (a random house) getting ready to appear on a Jeopardy-like show. I'm wearing a sports jacket. I notice that my hair is sticking up badly on the right side. I look at my hair in a mirror, and I notice that the hair is sticking up around a large bald spot I'd never noticed before. I show the bald spot to B. Dream 2: I'm at home (a different random house). We're throwing a party. Lots of guests show up. I see someone I want to talk to and walk up (dodging the snacks table) and start a conversation. He's never been to our house before, so I show him around. As we're walking down a red hallway, I tell him that, as soon as we saw this house, we knew it was the one for us. Now we're looking in one of the bathrooms. I explain that it was improperly wired, and that one of the switches controls lights in another bathroom. I turn on the remaining lights in this bathroom, and I'm surprised at how dark it still seems - I thought this bathroom was brighter. Dream 3: I'm watching the news. Four people are sitting in chairs on the stage. Three are regulars, and one is a guest newscaster from Georgia Tech. He thanks the regulars for letting him be there. Now I'm watching the same program, but they have a different guest newscaster. Notes: I often dream of doing something "at home," but I never dream about my real house, and I never dream about the same house twice. Every new "at home" dream has a new random house.

Dream 1: I'm at home (random house) getting ready to go out. I go downstairs to take care of the cats. They greet me on the stairs, meowing. I pick up Nina and marvel that a cat can be defined by 22 events. Now I'm back upstairs looking out a window. I see a bunch of trees, and past the trees is the back of a Home Depot. Dream 2: Something about a group of young men, a field, and a house. Notes: When I woke in the morning, I remembered several more dreams. However, I fell back asleep, and when my snooze alarm went off, I couldn't remember any of them

Dream 1: I'm on a long walk, and I pass through a large fenced-in field adjacent to a sports field. The fence is chain-link, so I can see through to the sports field. This field is full of people, and there are bleachers here. Dream 2: I'm on a snowy mountain. There are lots of people around. We're on one side in some sort of battle. I'm walking down a path with a companion. We're going to get something - rations, I think. Bells start ringing - we think we're going to be attacked. My companion is afraid that we're already being attacked, but that the attackers are being hidden from us - magic? As we're walking back to our position, we encounter MD and another guy. The guy is trying to convince M to do something. M is unsure, but the guy is persistent. He says something about not judging him. Dream 3: I'm in our van in the passenger seat. The mailman is right behind us. He's driving a normal car. Both vehicles are stopped. The mailman wants to give me my mail, but he doesn't want to get out of his car. We're trying to signal him to come alongside and hand me the mail through the car windows, but he's not understanding and is getting frustrated. Dream 4: I'm driving on a freeway. I pass a speed limit sign for 79 MPH. As I'm driving, I come up to a huge fork in the road where all the lanes go both directions. Now I'm in a motel parking lot. The motel is a long, sprawling thing, and the parking lot is huge. Now I'm in a conference room. The conference hasn't started yet, so I have time to check into my room and clean up. My companion goes and checks in, then goes to take a shower. When he's done, I go to our room. We're in room 48. When I look in room 48, I find it's just a huge bathroom. There's a giant tub near the door, and there's a giant shower on the back wall. I look around in the hall to see if there's another room 48 that I'm missing. Rooms 47 and 49 are on either side of 48, and they're normal rooms. Somehow, we got assigned the bathroom. I decide to go to the front desk to try to get assigned a different room. Now I'm in the motel office. I start to talk to one of the secretaries, and she points me to the front desk I'm supposed to be at; I'm supposed to be in the lobby, not in the office. Somehow, I find out that I'm getting a good deal on my room because the room is defective. Now I'm in the conference room. We're taking a lunch break. A long line starts to form at a counter in the back of the room where lunch is being served.

Dream 1: I'm at the Gs' house to house-sit it while they're away. They've got a huge monitor that I want to watch things on - I may even be able to zoom in well with it. First, there are other people there that need to leave. Also, they've received their new AT&T modem in the mail and need me to hook it up so they can cancel their old DSL service. Now I'm going on a walk. I'm with a large group, and I'm up in the front. We're going up-hill, and we stop to let those in the back catch up with us. DN is in the front with me. JL is near the back and is having trouble keeping up. Now we're at the top of the hill. I want to head home to get on with my tasks, but JB is going to be putting on a concert here. There are lots of folding chairs for us to sit in, and his piano is off to one side. While we're waiting for him, I check JL's feet. They're very cold [and though it didn't seem strange to me in the dream, they were also very small]. Now we're all seated and JL is playing. Some people are still talking, and JL gets very mad at them. AW says something quietly to me, and I shush him so we don't earn JL's wrath. Now I'm back at the Gs' house. I look at their huge monitor - it's a CRT as big as an old TV. I do something with their entertainment center and the modem.

Dream 1: I'm at NL. It's in a big, airy building with lots of windows. Something about airplanes (modeling them?). Dream 2: I'm driving down a hill. It's a sunny day with blue skies. There are trees off to my right. Dream 3: A dwarf is trying to make it through some tunnels. He knows there's a direct route from point A to point B, but he also knows this is a large tunnel system with which he's not familiar, so he may get lost. It's pitch black. Someone is with the dwarf. As they go along, they occasionally enter rooms where their own kind were eaten (they can tell by touch). They're glad it's dark so they can't see the carnage. One end of the tunnel system connects to NL. Dream 4: I'm walking around at work. Cubes are scattered all over the place in no particular order or arrangement. They're all long and low. I come to TB's cube and remember that TB recently left the company. He's left a huge collection of books behind, so I look through them to see if there's anything worth scavenging. He's got a lot of books on programming, a lot of books on (something), and a lot of books on airplanes. Many of the airplane books cover one specific airplane in great detail. Clearly, he likes to know as much as possible about what he's working on. I want to take some of the books, but I'd like permission first. I see JK coming and want to talk to him, but I don't want to actually initiate the conversation. Now I'm standing near JS' desk. His desk is against one of the cube partitions, placed so he can see out over the cube wall. I'm in the hallway nearby. DS and another guy are right across the cube wall from JS. They're taking a call with JS on his speaker phone. JS is saying something about how they don't need to stand there like that, that the real conference call system is not expensive, and they should use it. I'm not on the conference call, but I'm standing close enough to listen in case something of interest to me comes up. Dream 5: I'm at QT with B and EG. I want to get a drink. They have a gigantic drinks machine in the middle of the store. It's long, it's round, and it goes way up to the high ceiling. I stand back from it, studying it, trying to figure out what to get. I notice that one of the fountains is labeled "Coffee / Mocha." I'm planning on getting some of that, but I'm concerned that it might be iced. I want hot coffee, not iced. While I'm standing there looking at it, B and EG come up. EG is in a wheelchair. They came from the isle with the junk food. Dream 6: I'm driving around in a town. I need to get into a parking lot, but I'm having trouble: not only is there a huge bump and slope to get into the lot, but a car is trying to turn out and is blocking the driveway. Now I'm in some sort of seedy bar. People look at me and tell me that I'm in the wrong place, that I want the other bar in town. I tell them that this was the one I was told to come to - there's some sort of name plaque on the wall, and it's the name I was given. Now I'm in the narthex of a church. Somehow, I know it was connected with the bar. The narthex is huge in every dimension. Along one side, there's a walkway with a normal-height ceiling held up by carved pillars. Now, I'm still in the narthex, but there's a long table down the middle covered with food, and people are milling around it. Dream 7: I'm at my computer browsing images. I'm saving off the really good images. Somehow, I end up going through the image sets more than once. Dream 8: I'm in a stairwell. Something about a fire hose.

Dream 1: I'm looking at a castle courtyard where a tournament is about to happen. Suddenly, a large red streamer appears and floats down to the ground. Once it's down, two men appear on the ground, stunned. They're right in the middle of the tournament field. One of the men looks like MB. The princess sees the streamer, so she halts all the proceedings and takes a couple of men out to look at it. As she gets closer, she sees the strangers lying on the ground and instructs the men with her to help the strangers. One of the men with the princess tries to take the strangers back to his room. He tries to make light of the situation to put the strangers at ease. One of the strangers goes willingly, but the MB-lookalike is not as trusting, especially since he doesn't know who these people are or how he got to this place. Their guide and one of the strangers walk around a movable windbreak that happens to be on the field nearby. By doing so, they start out walking in the wrong direction, but their guide always likes to walk around it whenever he can. MB is concerned when his friend and the guide disappear behind the windbreak, but when they reappear he's reassured, especially since there's now another man with them. MB hurries around the windbreak himself and catches up with the group. While all of this is happening, someone is looking at the streamer that appeared. It's actually a long, thin bag. He's trying to dump out the bag to see if anything is in it, but it's empty. Now, the guide has taken the strangers back to his room. Dream 2: I'm walking home. I'm walking on a wide dirt area to the left of the road. Dream 3: I'm in a car. There's another car in front of me, and we're waiting at some train tracks for a train to come through. The gate is already down, but the train isn't here yet. The other driver is known for running red lights, but she would never dodge around the gates at a railroad crossing. Dream 4: I'm at work in a break area with a bunch of people, including DN and TB. We're all drinking beer. DN gives me a half-finished homebrew to finish off. There's a conversation about food. Now it's the next day. I'm back in the breakroom. I find my unfinished beer from the night before and finish drinking it. DN scolds me for leaving the beer and tempting him to finish it off himself. Someone talks about frozen pancakes, discussing the merits of eating them fresh out of the microwave, of waiting for them to cool off, or of eating them frozen. Dream 5: I'm looking at the Powerball website. The record holder is now a woman, and the site has been redone with pictures of her all over it.

hmmm I too have quite a few dreams a night as well. ranging from vivid and not vivid as you do. I too am waiting to become fully lucid too, don't worry it comes with time and sticking to it.

I had some late nights this week and went 3 days without remembering a single dream Oh well, hopefully things will get back to normal now. Dream 1: I'm driving to work on a multilane divided road, listening to Lord of the Rings. Gandalf and Pippin are on Shadowfax headed to Minas Tirith. Pippin asks Gandalf if Shadowfax is male or female. Gandalf spends a while talking about how you can tell. Once he finishes answering, he starts muttering to himself: "If I were a cave, where would I go?" I'm still driving, but I'm getting really tired, and it's getting hard to concentrate on the road. I start to notice that I'm drifting to the right, so I turn the wheel a little to the left. I'm still drifting right, so I turn the wheel further and further to the left. Suddenly, I veer right and head for the edge of the road where there's a nasty dropoff. I brake and turn the wheel back right as fast as I can. The car straightens out a little, and I stop before I reach the edge. I'm blocking a couple of lanes, but there are no other cars on the road. [I wake up with adrenaline pumping.] Dream 2: I'm down in the basement doing something. The cats are purring and rubbing against my legs. Dream 3: I'm setting up the Topsy Turvy. I'm putting it to the left of my front porch, in front of my [real, for once] house. Even though I'm just now setting it up, the tomato plant is already hanging low enough to the ground to concern me. I don't want caterpillars on it like last year. I'm a little surprised at how big it already is, but I don't really think about it. I get a watering can and fill it with water and a little Miracle Grow. Back out at the plant, I water all its leaves, then start to water inside the TT. I'm surprised by how much water is in the watering can - I keep watering, and it doesn't stop. I don't want to drown the plant, but I also don't want to waste my "blue water." I take the top off of the TT to see how the soil inside looks, and I'm surprised to see that there's almost no soil at all. It's full of a huge root system, but there's no soil. It must have all fallen out the bottom. I go to the garage and get a bag of soil and a scoop, then return to the TT and start scooping in soil. While I'm doing this, B and the kids come out to watch. I warn K to keep Coco away from the soil, but somehow she gets it inside the TT and gets it covered with dirt. It's nap time, but I'm tempted not to get her a clean Coco since she disregarded my warning. B tries to hurry me up so we can get the kids down for their nap, but I want to finish this.

Dream 1: I'm delivering beverages to a large building to help ES. There are some guys (not human - they have blue skin) walking around that want my iced tea, so I have to be careful. I'm able to slide the iced tea across some sort of serving counter accessible from both outside and inside. I go inside and collect it. Inside the building, many tables are set up. Each one has 3 foods present, and each food has a different drink with it. I go to one of the tables and drop off my iced tea for the food associated with the iced tea pile. Dream 2: A is eating an egg. It's flat on one side with a nice curve on the other. It looks like an egg poached in an electric poacher, but we don't have one. I'm trying to figure out how B could have cooked the egg in that shape.

Dream 1: I'm in Japan, walking around a shopping district. I'm in a tailor's shop, and I want to buy something, but I'm told that I can't buy anything unless I have a card from the bank showing that I'm trustworthy. Now I'm at the bank, trying to get one of these cards. I'm told to go do something for them. Now I'm in the middle of doing the bank's errand, and I'm talking with a man who turns out to be an old friend of my father. He's asking me not to help the bank; if I do, I'll hurt him. I end up helping the bank anyway, since I need that card. Now I'm back at the bank, and they're going to give me the card. I want to be respectful, so I start to bow to them, but I can't remember the proper way to do it. I try to Google it, but I can't find it. It doesn't matter though, and they go over to a huge automatic embroidery machine to make my card. The machine is threaded with two threads: a light blue thread and a pink thread. Both threads are thick and fuzzy. They run it, and it starts to sew two parallel lines with both colors. I can't figure out how it can possibly be sewing the lines without any threads running between them. The machine keeps going, but instead of making my card, it's running in some sort of demo mode. It starts stitching all sorts of designs, starting out simple, but eventually creating very intricate pictures. It starts making clouds, then makes a dragon flying in the clouds. Now I'm on a dreary gray mountain outside the cave where the dragon dwells. I meet my father's old friend again. Because of what I did earlier, he's dead, and somehow he ended up here. Now I'm in a house. There are lots of dead people walking around, investigating something. It's the Dead Detective Agency. Dream 2: I'm at work. I walk down a hall outside an office and into some cubes. People I talk to keep congratulating me on my promotion, but I have no idea what they're talking about. Eventually, I figure out that I've been put in charge a certain project. I try to get an appointment with DN to talk about it, but TB warns me that DN has all the planning skill of an artist, and that even if I manage to get an appointment for next Tuesday, that by the time Tuesday comes his schedule will have changed completely. I have some laundry that needs to be done. Eventually, I find that if I write my name on it and leave it in the mailroom that it'll be cleaned and brought back to my cube. Dream 3: I'm leaving a school at night. I run into a guard walking around in the parking lot. He briefly shines his flashlight on my face, then lowers it again. It's bright red [dream mask!]. I see it's an older Photon light, so I show him my newer model. Unfortunately, the batteries are dead. Now I'm in my car. I decide to disconnect some of the components on the dashboard to help the car start better. Unfortunately, once they're disconnected, the engine won't turn over. It's completely dead. I reconnect one of the switches, then look to see what it does. It's the switch to select which windshield washer reservoir to pull from (there's one reservoir under the hood and two under the main chassis).

Dream 1: I'm in a tall building riding a platform elevator with some other people. We get a bad feeling, so next time it gets to a floor we get off. This floor has many, many elevator shafts running through it. They're grouped in groups of 5 shafts in a + shape. Our platform was on one of the arms of one of the +s. Shortly after we get off of the platform, it starts to shake, then drops. We all start running across the floor. I decide to jump over one of the shafts; right after I land on the other side, a platform comes falling down. A second slower and it would have caught me. Other people with me tell me how foolish it was to do that. 3rd person: A bunch of people are standing near one of the shafts, talking about the problems. They say that things look much worse than they are, and that these things are really very safe. Before 9/11, they were perfectly reliable, but after the planes hit, they had 7 platforms fall in 7 days. One of the guys adds that it was also across 7 buildings, so their reliability rating is still very high, but another counters that most people don't know or care that it was more than one building, and that 7 falls in 7 days just sounds bad. 3rd person, outside: The military has arrived to investigate the problems. They're encamped near an old elevator museum, and they're not happy that they're not being let in. Outside the museum is a huge old piece of machinery with a sign attached to it.

Dream 1: I'm at a Cracker Barrel to meet up with TB and CS, who haven't arrived yet. It doesn't look anything like a real Cracker Barrel; it looks like a normal diner, with cheap tables and plastic covered benches, but the "kitchen" area with the griddle is in the center of the restaurant. Now I'm sitting with TB and CS. We all order breakfast foods, even though it's lunch time. Unfortunately, the cook isn't around. We're told that we can either change our orders to normal lunch stuff, or we can wait for the cook to get back. Dream 2: I'm visiting a house. I walk into a bathroom from the hall, but I see that it's connected to the master bedroom, and there's no door to close it off. I don't like that, so I walk back into the hall to look for another bathroom. The next door down the hall is a normal bathroom that's not connected to anything, so I go in there instead. Now I'm near the front of the house with M and F. M is talking to someone else. It starts to rain. M asks F and myself to carry some boxes out to the car, and to use the side door. I'm not happy about this, since it means we'll get more wet, and since she's just doing it to get F and myself out of the room so she can talk to the other person in private, but I accept anyway.

Dream 1: I'm with B and her parents, and we're going to see our vacant rental property. We enter through the back door. We've recently started using a property management company, and we want to see what they've done. One of B's parents says something about the management company putting new, over-sized furniture into the rental; that it's not practical but that it seems to attract renters. I look at the furniture myself, and I don't see anything wrong with it. We walk through the rest of the house and go to leave out the front. Instead of a normal front door, it has a sliding glass door. I open it so everyone else can walk through, but I'm not sure how I'm going to lock it once we leave.

Dream 1: I'm shopping at Aldi. I have a really full cart. I'm done shopping, so I head to the checkout area. It's huge, with lots of lines and lots of cashiers. Instead of having normal lines, there's one long line, and the cashiers call people up to them as they're available. One of the cashiers knows me and calls me up quickly, before it should have been my turn. I buy some apples, but then I realize that I could have gotten a better deal on them. I return the apples, then immediately re-buy them at the better price. I have both red and yellow apples. I know I'll need to eat the red ones more quickly since they go bad faster, and even once the yellows are mushy they're still good. I'm at the cash register buying my apples. The cashier somehow thinks I've already purchased them and isn't charging me for them. I'm tempted to go along with it, but I know I should pay for them anyway. Now I'm bagging my apples. I have a bag of red apples and a bag of yellow apples. I put the bag of red apples in a grocery bag, then I put that grocery bag into the bag of yellow apples. Dream 2: The space shuttle is in Europe, and it needs to be shipped to the US. Unfortunately, it's too big to be shipped over in one piece - after all, it was designed to fly around, not be carried around. It's going to have to be chopped up first to fit on a ship. Dream 3: I'm in a park, sitting on a bench. A very stubby car drives by. Someone makes a derogatory comment about "hatchback" cars (even though this isn't one).

Dream 1: I'm at my desk at work. A security guard (reminds me of a TV character) comes by and takes a look at my equipment to make sure it's secure. On the left side of my desk, there's a stack of network devices. The guard sees a wireless router in the middle of the stack and unplugs it. It's not a security problem to have a wireless router, only to have one without a password, but he decides to unplug it first before asking me if it's password protected. I reboot my own computer, and the BIOS shows a screen for "Registrations." The only option on the screen is "New." The router would normally be listed here, but since it's unplugged, it's not showing up. Now that the guard is gone, I consider plugging the router back in, but I don't want to get in trouble. Dream 2: I'm watching a movie called Blown Away. Programmers are using alpha waves to scan their bodies in hopes of making new discoveries. There's a woman at a control console holding up a 3D model of something. She's convinced that it's the same all the way through, but she consents to cutting it open. She's very surprised to find patterns inside it. The patterns fit together like a lock and key - but then part of it shifts and it won't fit together any more. They realize that something made a change, and then something unmade the change. They use so much radiation on one man that he's sent from the movie into the real world. Dream 3: I'm at church. ES and CS are handing out communion stuff. ES has the bread and wine, and CS is following her with the cheese. ES is also carrying little porcelain plates with spidery orange designs. She gives me a plate and tells me to take as much bread as I want, so I take two pieces. CS comes along and puts cheese on top. ES comments that I took a lot more than everyone else. I'm embarrassed, and I try to hide my plate with my hand. B and AM are talking about one of Mom's hair accessories.

Dream 1: I'm at church, in the new narthex. There are large piles of soil scattered around. CS says they're not ready for use yet - they're the original soil from the grounds, and they need Miracle Grow mixed in with them. Each pile also needs a couple of small buttons. Dream 2: I'm staying at a white house. I'm walking around back, checking all of the doors. Eventually, I find a sliding glass door that's unlocked. I go inside and chide someone for leaving the door unlocked. The house is near a road, and on the other side of the road is a small piece of land, then a sharp drop-off. I'm talking with someone about the wizard's apprentices I saw walking along the road. I'd hoped to see them do something interesting, but all they did was [forgot]. He asks me what I expected to see; at first, I'm not really sure; I just wanted to see something neat. I finally realize that I expected to see them using fireballs, since that's always the first thing mages are supposed to learn. The guy I'm talking to is also an apprentice, so we go to the little bit of land for him to practice his own magic. Now there's a terrible storm and the road is flooded. Our little bit of land is just an island now. Somehow, I cross the flooded road and get back to the house. Inside, I start collecting some things, and some people ask me what I'm doing. Now it's a clear day. I'm standing in front of the house looking across the road, at some barns. Shadowfax is running in between the barns and occasionally jumping up on their roofs. I'm concerned that the roofs aren't meant to take that kind of abuse and might collapse. 3rd person: somebody is in one of the barns with Shadowfax, on a higher level. The roof falls in, and the floor he's on starts to fall. It looks like they're trapped. Suddenly, someone knocks a hole in one of the walls. It's the farmer, apologizing for demolishing his barn when they were still inside it.

Dream 1: I'm trying to repair a "turkey fryer" (which looks like a cheap smoker) using a small propane torch. I'm using some sort of blue fabric "shield" to protect myself. I put the shield in the fryer, direct the flame in for a few seconds, then back up. Each time I do this, flame shoots back out of the fryer, though the shield helps block most of it. The fryer is in the back of my van, and the van is in what looks like a commercial garage. When the flames shoot out of the fryer, they almost reach the roof of the van, but they never quite make it. Eventually, the propane torch runs empty. I still don't want to give up on fixing the fryer - I want to master this skill. Dream 2: I'm outside of a performance hall. Lots of people are milling around, waiting to go in. I'm listening to music on some earbud headphones connected to my Palm. I walk up some steps and around a corner to reach the main doors, which are still closed. I consider leaving my Palm there to play music for everyone, but I realize that the battery won't last long, so I decide against it. Dream 3: I'm looking through my closet for a shirt to wear. Every shirt in the closet is bright red, and none of them goes with my blue jeans. Finally, I find a shirt without too much red in it. It's long sleeved, but it'll have to do.

Dream 1: I'm driving on a limited access road and come to a toll plaza. I ask the toll attendant if I'll have to pay the toll when I come back through later. Dream 2: I'm at home, outside our garage. I want to buy something, and instead of trying to swipe my card I decide I'll enter the number myself, since I have it memorized. I start to enter my credit card number on the top of my garbage can, which happens to have the right fields on its lid. For some reason, one of the fields won't take; it keeps clearing itself after I enter the number. I finally realize that I'm entering the number wrong and fix that field; unfortunately, another field clears itself. When I try to fix it, I realize I can't remember my credit card number any more. While I'm still outside, a woman drives up to take my order. First, she wants to know what I want to drink, and I ask for a chicken roll-up. She reminds me that she asked about drinks, not appetizers, so I ask for a raspberry Coke. I realize that's not right, but I can't think of what it's supposed to be, so I ask for the Coke with the little red fruit. Eventually, I remember that it's Cherry Coke. She asks me what I'd like for my main dish, and I order something. She drives off and comes back with the food - but she forgot the chicken roll-ups. She'll drop off what she has and go back for the rest. She's going up the front path to the front door, and I go through the garage to get the front door unlocked. When I go in, I find that the kids are already inside, and they haven't shut off the security system. It's beeping, and I'm worried that it'll go off before I'm able to disarm it. I go to the panel in the family room and try to type in my code. I get it wrong, and it starts beeping more loudly. I realize I can't remember my security code. Dream 3: I'm at work, and it's lunch time. I'm in a large room with lots of windows and chairs - not the lunch room, though. There's a sky bridge on one side leading off towards the lunch room. DN, TB, and AJ are with me. I'm telling them that I've managed to con my employer into paying for my lunches from now on; but that the system hasn't been updated yet to recognize me, and that I'll have to submit my receipt to get reimbursed. DN warns me that the line for the hamburgers is usually very long, and it's better just to get something else. Now the four of us are in something like a sports arena, high up. TB sits on the end of the row, with AJ next to him; I'm disappointed, because I wanted to sit by TB. AJ says he won't be sitting there long, that he'll sit on the floor in a couple of minutes. It's AJ's job to provide a large distraction. I get down and start dumping out my bag, looking for a part he needs. I find a number of random parts, and batteries seem to be in and around everything, but I don't see the part I want. Now I'm down in the arena itself, and I call out, asking if AJ can come down and join me. Approval is granted. Dream 4: One of the kids knocks one of my speakers off of the table. When I look down at it, I see that the speaker cord has broken off of the speaker. I think I'll be able to take it apart and solder the cord back on.

Dream 1: I'm in a large room. In the middle, there's a large gray (metal?) statue. Dream 2: I'm at a hospital with a note from work. B is with me. At a fork in the corridor, we find a lady sitting behind a small info desk. She directs us which way to go. She wants to keep my note, but I hold onto it, since it's my only copy. We're going to room 771. We find rooms in the 780's, but can't find the 770's. Someone directs us through a door at the end of the hallway. We go through it, but we're in the 750's now. A doctor is going into one of the doors and asks us to come with him. Dream 3: I'm outdoors. There are mountains nearby.

Dream 1: I'm walking around a school yard with AW. He makes some comment about the kids. Dream 2: I'm in a motel room with my parents. There's some sort of odd blue chair. It's made so that it can rock back slightly. Some how, we get rid of it, then decide that we want to see it again. As we're thinking about how to get it back, something starts up a fresh SSL negotiation, and the chair pops back into the room. Dream 3: I'm in a hotel lobby with AW. The receptionist is an older Asian man. He's walking off somewhere on an errand, but when he finds out we're checking in he goes back to his desk. AW wanders off somewhere while I try to check in. I explain that my parents' church meets in a conference room in the hotel, and I point down one of the hallways at the conference room they use. The room is in my name, but I'm not the one paying for it. The receptionist has a hard time finding the room. When AW comes back, the receptionist is hunting through a filing cabinet and is still having problems finding the reservation. He decides he's going to look for it with his GPS unit. I follow him through some large hallways; eventually, we end up outside. There are other people here playing some sort of game. There's a large insect (something like a bumble-bee) flying around, and it gets in through the open door. The receptionist follows it back inside trying to get rid of it. Now I'm in a room with DJ. We're playing some game that involves each of us holding onto one end of a lot of black ropes. Somehow, I do something wrong, and some of them get tangled. We flip the whole mess over to untangle it, and he comments that I'm lucky they weren't tangled more. I'm having a hard time getting it untangled it, but when we flip it all back over it looks fine.

Dream 1: I'm in the girls' room. The breaker box is above K's bed, and I'm installing the X10 repeater in it. B and the kids are around me. I point out the neutral bus (a really thick silver-colored wire) and one of the hot buses (a thick red wire). B reaches in to point something, and I warn her not to touch anything. K tries to reach in to touch something, and I grab her hand so she can't hurt herself. Dream 2: I'm in a large motel room. There's no furniture - it's probably a meeting room. I'm trying to vacuum the carpet (short, industrial stuff) with a commercial vacuum cleaner, but it's just not picking anything up.

Dream 1: I'm at a home improvement store buying stuff. Dream 2: I'm interacting with my robot, one of my best friends. Somehow, he's changing, evolving, even dying, and he can't interact with me like he used to. He's got another physical persona in the room -- more human-like, and probably even better -- but I know that no matter how much better this new incarnation of the robot is, I'll always miss the old one. I have a great feeling of sadness.
