My dream, and needing help with Recall

      Hi everyone!

I have this weird dream two nights ago (first time a I had remembered a dream in about 4 weeks) It was about me waking up and sitting up in bed, the laying back down and falling asleep. At first I wasn't sure if it was a dream, but now I know it was, because I remember not seeing my budgies cage or the other cage in my room (I'm getting a parrot). It seemed so real, it was weird. Any idea what this dream might mean? The other thing is I can't seem to be able to recall my dreams. I've tried the one about talking to yourself, but my mind wanders way to much. Any suggestions? Also, how do you actually experience your dream. I seem to not be aware of anything thats happining and then when I wake up it's like my mind remembers it, but I didn't get to experience it when I was actually dreaming it. Anyone understanding me?

Thanks alot, I need any help I can get.

Hi and welcome to the Forum Sobb!</span>

The dream you had may have just been caused from the mere anticipation of you getting a parrot.

As far as beginning to remember your dreams, you can start with beginning a journal. Writing down each one. This takes some resolve but it does help your recall.
There are a lot of methods, suggestion, and advice you will surely find.
The Tutorial section is a good place to begin.

When you have dreams do you view yourself in the third person or are you the role playing character in them?
I am not real clear on what you mean on your latter question.

      My Dreams

I view my drwams from first person point of view, but sometimes it switches like it would in a movie. I've tried keeping ajournal, but I cannot seem to remember my dreams. When I remembered that dream about waking up, I was in school talking to one of my friends. I have alot of screwed dreams. I think one of my dream signs is putting things way out of scale. I had two weird dreams about 2 weeks ago. One was I was in a pet store and my friend Matthew was looking at this giant black parrot. He put the parrot on his shoulder and said "I think he likes me, I'm going to buy him." (I should have realized by now that it was a dream ) I got all jealous that the parrot liked him and I woke up (by the way my sis was there). The other dream was just as weird if not weirder. I went into some white shacky house with a nice inside place. This place was filled with amazing parrots that looked so messed up, but real that it was uncanny! My sister was looking at a white wall saying "Wow, this is amazing..."
I called her name about two times before she actually saw the parrots and then she said "WOW!!" I actually thought 'God your so stupid' in my head in the dream, which was weird. My sister walked up to a cage with a parrot in it that had a head way to big for it's body (OMG! I think I know where that parrot came from. My bro was looking at pics of the parrot I'm going to get and said "It's head is so big." That is weird...(that was in real life)) anyway, suddenly a horse (my sis likes horses) leant over the top of the cage (the horse came from out of nowhere) and it had a parrots beak! It rubbed it's head agains my sisters face the way horses do and then in looked at me, and it's beak had gone, it was now a normal horse. It was about to nay when I woke up.

P.S. I had alot of other screwed dreams in my past.

Hey SOBB Have you thought about using the Dream Journal forum to post some of your dreams? That way if you need help looking for dream signs, you can have something for people to look at.

Anyway, here's the way I journal my dreams in case you're interested:

I already have tried the suggestion technique, the journal technique, all that jazz. I may try using the tape technique. Still, I've done tons of reading, and have basically read all the tutorials that could help me. I can't remember my dream from last noight, but I remember the dream from the night before last night (sort of). I was driving in the car. We got to Moncton (My dad, a friend, and I) and then I said, theat only took us an hour (it usually takes 2)! and I woke up.

Oh, the other thing is...When I'm dreaming, I don't really seem to be able to experiance my dream. But, when I wake up, I know what I had dreamed (sometimes). Anyone understand?

Meaning that the dream to you is just a memeory? If so I would classify that as a regualar dream. When you "experiance" the dream you would be lucid.?

Damn, that is confusing. They are both a memory, yet one may be percieved as just a memory, while in a lucid dream because your conscious in the dream, would it be considered real time?

Don't get discouraged. There are a lot of techniques and one of them is sure to work for you.
I have to ask you a question SOBB. If you ask yourself, in all honesty, do you believe that you can lucid dream or do you just consider it a possibility?

Exactly, strange isn't it? I think some people may just think they have had a dream and remember something that they havent dreamed. Also, I had my first partially lucid (barely) dream last night. I was in school, anyway I an't explain it, cause I have to go to school! It was weird though. I can only remember my dreams when I don't try!!! Hahaha.

I think i know what you mean SOBB,is it almost as though even though you are dreaming forward in time, you can only remember your dream for a little period backwards in time?

if that were true then remembering backwards and experiencing forwards would be two... too... confusing?

maybe i dunno what you mean. am i on the right track?

i've been getting a lot of dreams lately too, must be the latitude ~; )

You might be on the right track... All I know is that sometimes I remember my dreams, but I can't remember actually experiencing the dream, like watching a movie. You see whats going on, but don't experiance it... WOW! This is getting deep, if someone asn't followed this whole convo, it's so confusing...

I cannot seem to have a lucid dream! I'm always thinking about gettting my parrot, and homework, and stress. Anyone have any idea other that all the ones mentioned on this site? None of them work for me! Also, I had a dream last night, I was going to write it down, but was too lazy (it sucked anyway )

Well, have to go to school, bye for now!
