Feel completely smashed in the mornings

I am not a morning person

      I am the opposite

In fact, I am so not a morning person that the idea of writing an entry in a journal, or any task that requires sentience would be laughable if I had the cognative capacity to laugh in mornings. Is there ANY alternative whatsoever that you know of? I have some problems in sleeping (im working on them now) so I sleep quite late, resulting in waking up late for school, so even if I was collected enough to write, I would have to rush to school.

I have heard of people keeping daydream journals or increasing dream recall through memory games/exercises. Do either of these (or other things) work at all?

      Thanks

Try home-schooling, charter school or something similar, you could sleep whenever you wanted to as long as you get your work done.

Well you quite resemble myself. I am also not the morning type usually , unless I have a really vivid lucid dream and then I am able to function more than properly .

First, go to sleep early! I know it is hard sometimes ,but if you want a lucid dream as bad as I do you must try and get yourself the best sleep you can! .
More sleep gets you more dreams and gives you a greater chance to become lucid and remember at least one of your dreams. Tell yourself that today you are going to sleep at 20:00 (so you will probably go to sleep at 22:00 ).

Second, after you get yourself to sleep earlier you should be able to wake up earlier for school and you will probably have enough time to write a dream journal. I personally advice you to write a dream journal and not use any alternatives. Still if you really don't want to write one you can try to record yourself instead. Also if you are really in hurry you can just write tags of your dream in your dream journal and by that you will be able to write down your dreams even after you get back from school.

      I hope I helped .

      Healthy Sleep

I know this is all going to sound really lame and I wouldn't have tried it out myself, but I was lucky enough to just realize it one day. Going to bed earlier helps, but who wants to go to bed at 8 if everyone you know is up till 11 Eating healthier makes a HUGE difference in your sleep. During the day its ok but the later it is (closer to your sleep) the less you should eat and if you eat something before going to bed it should be something light, like maybe a sandwich and not that *Insert mouthwatering, insane, fast food here* that you've been craving all day. I really had a hard time with this because I love eating a pizza, watching a movie and then falling asleep But it really made a HUGE difference. Drinking lots of water also helps a LOT. Drinking a glass of water directly before going to bed keeps you hydrated during the night and its an automatic alarm clock. This has probably been the most helpfull for me with waking up and not oversleeping. I also felt completely out of it in the mornings and was oversleeping daily. This became a serious problem, but now its a thing of the past Since then my dream journal entries have always been AT LEAST 2 paragraphs. And just short tags help too. Even if its just "airplane" and "travel". Thats enough to start the process. Next thing you know it will be "airplane" "travel" "elephants on plane" and so on and so forth. Hope this helps (even if it sounds EXTREMELY lame, I know ). Good luck!
