Unhappy My dream recall is actually terrible

I've been reading alot about lucid dreaming lately. And I really want to start having lucid dreams again. I still remember how happy I was after I've had my first lucid, it was such a vivid and incredible dream. Last summer, I've slept for about 14 hours a night and I could recall somewhere between 5-12 dreams every morning. But now my dream recall is absolutely horrible. If I'm lucky, I can recall one short, blurry dream every morning. I actually know what's causing this, I'm always stressed out because of school/work when I go to bed and when I wake up. Does someone have any advice for me? I'm actually quite desperate because I really want to be able to focus on lucid dreaming completely. But I just can't, no matter how hard I try (using mantras, meditation,..). It just doesn't work. :c

Next week is going to be my last week before half term. Which means I can sleep in for about 9 days. So I'm pretty sure my dream recall's going to be fine that week. And I've got more than 100 dreams from the past few months on my phone, which I still need to write down in my official dream journal. I really don't feel like doing it, it's gonna take me hours. But I guess I'll just have to do it.

I can see you sleep through your bedroom window. You're killing yourself with lucid dreaming.

      Hi Crashyy, remember me!

I don't think it's a case of losing your mojo - you just need to get back into a routine that fits in with your life. Maybe you could compromise and have a lie-in at the weekends instead. That way you would have your best chance of acheiving LD.

Re: Recall. Just try and write down anything that comes to mind, perhaps keywords, etc. and build up your recall that way.
I think you may have created a bit of a barrier regarding the DJ archive. I know what you mean there - it can be a chore; maybe that isn't helping. Transcript the most important ones down first and make sure you don't lose, etc.

I hope the stress/school thing works out. It is a good thing that you can identify the problem, etc.

      Good luck.

Sleeping for 14 hours isn't that healthy, i might add. Try to sleep for just 8 hours a night and work on school as well, kind of like the best of both worlds.

There are a lot of ways for dealing with stress. For me, I sometimes meditate about it. When you get stressed out, take a moment to stop what you're doing, and try to look at yourself and examining what type of person you are being for being so stressed out. And even examining yourself distances you from the stress a little. Then take some time to offer a positive counter example, like how you could do all your work calmly, and not let it get to your head. I take some time to meditate and focus on doing these things, and that should help relieve the stress.

      Good luck!

      heya, ofcourse I remember you.

Thanks for your advice, my half term has just started. So I guess I'm gonna slowly build up my dream recall by writing down keywords. And see how it goes.
