Recall Stink, read, it's not what you think

OOkay, I am sorry for the ridiculous title, but I have a serious question and would love some input. They say that your sense of smell is the strongest sense tied to memory, or rather, RECALLING memories. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything, so does anyone know if you can manipulate the sense of smell to help you rememeber dreams during the night?

For example, could you possibly set a glade plug-in on a timer to create aromas while you are supposed to be in REM sleep, and then smell it in the morning as you are trying to recall/record dreams?

Also, are there certain smells/incense(wormwood?) that affect the quality/ability to recall dreams. I remember once I went to an oxygen bar and that night I had vivid and strange dreams, but I do not know if I rememebred them because of what I had at the bar or the fact that they just stood out so much when I woke up that I mulled over them enough to stick in my memory.

Sorry for acting like such a newbie, but I would love to learn.

It's not a silly post at all...it would be interesting if other people did read this, and reply to it...as to my part, i'm afraid it's not something i've ever tried...

Back in the day when I was exploring a lot of VR potential, there was a company that made a computer-controlled scent device. With some basic chemicals they were able to reproduce thousands of scents.

Hmm, let's see if they still exist: Digiscents, Inc. I still have their "iSmell" t-shirt.

Nope. Looks like they were a dotBomb. Oh well. Cute idea. They demo'd it at CES in, oh, probably 2000.

      Forget I said anything.

      Myrrh

You're right I thought of that myself and asked, how many times did I smell anythings or remember smell in my dreams. So then I figure If you could remember a smell connect to the dream then you should be able to remember the dream.
