      stress and dream recall

I am going to make some statements about my sleep habits ect....tie them together and state a theory.
I keep reading that relaxing is important for DR. I find for myself that I seem to dream more (or better recall) when I am under stress.
I fall to sleep fast when I first go to bed, however sometimes have trouble getting back to sleep after an awakening. I will drink chamomile tea prior to bed, this has a deep relaxing effect on me. What I have found is that I have better DR when I do not drink this prior to bed.
I have been working on LDing for about 3months. I had my first low level LD after only 2 weeks after taking a B6 b4 bed. It has had no effect on my dreams since that one time so I no longer take it.
I am going state my feelings as to what is happening and asking for some LD experts to comment on this.
I think what Im dealing with is the difference between mind awake and body asleep. when I am relaxed my mind as well as body are in a deeper sleep. When I am stressed my body may sleep but my mind is more "awake" allowing me to dream more or atleast have better RC. When I took the B6 it was because it was a stessfull day and the B6 in conjuction with a more active mind blew me away with vivid dreams and a LD.
In summary it seems I dream more or have better RC when I am in a state of restless sleep but not to the point where I cant sleep. A fine line between the two.
What I am doing now for the next month is doing Reality checks and not try to become Lucid, just working on DR.
Sorry for the long post, your input is very important to me. Thanks.

This is to be expected. You are in a lighter state of sleep and I suspect you are awakening during each REM cycle while in this state. How is the dream content when you are sleeping like this?

Is it full of long epic adventures or does it have short disjointed fragments? High stress times for me result in wonderful recall, but in choppy fragments. Low stress times result in long epic dreams, but reduced recall.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Thanks Seeker for the reply. While I do recall more dreams when I am restless, they are more fragmentary also.
Do you feel that when I am in a lighter sleep that I am waking more in response to the MILD technique to wakeup and recall , or that I may be just waking more during periods of REM sleep.Thanks.

I don't remember a lot of dreams when I am under stress, they tend to be very short and fragmented if I do. I'll just remember a few images from them at most.

If I am worried or excited I also dream like that, but remember them better than when it's stress. Hmm.
