Hey there and welcome to the forum!!

Why would you want to wake up from REM? That is when all of the action is! Well, first you might want to become aware you are dreaming (LD), and then after that, you could try to wake yourself up!
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Before you go to sleep, your last waking thought should be "I will wake up after each dream period" It helps.

Marijuana's a dream-killer, or so I hear. That is, getting high before you go to sleep

Yeah bro, take it from me. I love herb and smoked it insanely for a year and a half, during this time I never had a dream. I stopped smoking for reasons, it's been 4 months. It wasn't until recently I started to really get a lot of dreams, during my peak when I had a dream journal I experienced 4-6 dreams a week. It was quite fun, some I remembered very very vividly, and I during the end when I deleted my dream journal from my desktop on accident I successfully did a RC very fun stuff.

My advice is don't smoke too much before bed, or you sleep TOO well and there's no freakin way you're gonna wake up lmao. Weed is nitorous for great sleep man. Also yeah, I agree with above posters - herb didn't give me any cool dreams or any for that matter. Going sober probably aint a option so just smoke less before bed and see if that helps, i'd be suprised if you can wake up/dream at all during the night after a recent smoke.

Good luck to ya. You're 420 friendly so i had to post this for a fellow toker

Look guy, I don't want to sound aggresive, offensive, or look like im bragging in any way but with posts like this and a person like me i gotta let my voice out. I've smoked daily, stayed high all the time, for a year straight, but yet i'm in honors in college pullin A's B's. You just sound straight up ignorant about marijuana. Then again, many are, I don't blame you.

      No hard feelings. Peace.

Also not meaning to sound bad, but just cause it may not affect grades, it doesnt mean it wont go bad in other ways! The chance of developing schizophrenia alone, goes from 1% to 300-1000%! Feel free to think what you like about it, but ya wont catch me doing it in a million years XD

Where'd you get those numbers, freevibe? From more reliable sources I've heard risks that it could 'activate' schizophrenia if you have a history of it through your family - by 25%. But i'd say you're definently right in this aspect, any hallucinogens have a possibility of putting people in psych wards. Depends on the person and their mental status, but if you're mentally unstable you are very foolish to dabble in any drugs of any sort. I think for the majority of people that this is something many can handle, it's not on a scale with LSD or heavy mind altering substances.

By the way my mother worked in a psych ward for a long time, she'd tell me most of them were in there because of a drug induced psychosis. Not one from weed, though, mostly meth.

and hey Wolffe, if you don't want to smoke weed, more power to ya. You don't need it.

Hello I was just reading this post and I thought I might contribute a bit of wisdom

I did a research paper on schizophrenia and it is not always a split personality actually every 1 in 100 have schizophrenia. It is caused by biochemical imbalances in the brain, so actually drinking, doing drugs, etc... could actually contribute towards schizophrenia.

I hope this cleared some things up.

Not necessarily caused by imbalances! There's just a link between the two! :3 There are several psychological and neuroanatomical explanations for SZ too :3

pft... well if you think smoking weed and developing schizaphrenia will put you in a psych ward, (which i dont beleive it does. I have a theory on it, but thats for another day) then imagine what will happen if you told people that you have vivid and lucid dreams when you go to bed. So lucid that you can do anything. Explain to the head of the nut house how to perform a WILD. If weed will make you go crazy, then so will hypnogogic imagery.

they are both a matter of interpretation. Weed (according to my interpretation of the effect) made my thoughts more apparent. Its like i knew i had them before, but i never actually listened. So i just started actually noticing them. Thats all THC does.

WILDing is interpreted by some to be nothing spiritual or sometimes very spiritual. If you talked to any random person out on the streets about techniques on how to have a lucid dream, and maintaning lucidity and dream signs n what not, they would be interested, but think your nuts at the same time.

um... i just wanted to point out that percents over 100 are impossible... sorry if this gives you a bad impression of me on my first post... also... neither of you are really right... marijuana affects different people in different ways... as with ALL drugs. some people can do drugs and it wont have any effect on their lives. they're the lucky ones. for the majority of people, drugs tend to have at least some adverse effect but as i said its not uncommon for there to be "mutations" if you will
