B6 doesn't help recall, so much as it makes your dreams more vivid and therefore easier to remember... so, it sort of helps recall indirectly, at least in my understanding.
From what I understand, B6 increases the production of a type or type of neurotransmitter in the brain. What does that mean, exactly? I dunno, I'm no neuroscientist, I've only done a bit of uni psychology.
But basically, your brain is... more active, I suppose. Which makes it a little harder to go to sleep if you've taken B6, but if you do get to sleep, your brain tends to be more active, so your dreams are more vivid and stuff. At least, in my experience. Also, B6 tends to make my dreams more crazy, like more imaginitive. But that said, my dreams are usually pretty crazy.
