Thread: Hiatus

Argh. I haven't been posting on DV much lately. Reason: my dream recall's gone on hiatus. Haven't been able to remember a gorram thing in over four days. I know the reasons: not enough sleep, going to bed too late, too much alcohol, stress, etc.

But still, it's a pain in the ass. So, the reason I made this thread: has anyone gpot any tips, other than the obvious "sort out your sleep schedule and stop drinking!", for breaking out of a bad period of dream recall?

Maybe if you have the will to do so, you could set your alarm very early. Wake up for about 15 minutes and go back to sleep with dreaming on your mind.
It gives the old consciousness a kick start. At that stage, your subconscious is ready to go.

*And your buzz should have worn of by then.

i usually find that if i don't sleep that much at night that if i sleep during the day for abit i usually remember alot of my dreams and usually wake up after each dream. Hope this is a help, you may not have time to sleep during the day tho.

the best way to remember your dreams is to get waken up while dreaming.

This kind of thing comes and goes in the life of a lucid dreamer. Just be patient and don't stress too much about it. Things will change soon

Simple as ABC. Just sleep. Just forget the dream recall for a while to rest your mind. Because I would think it would be a little stressful for your mind to recall it everynight. Just simpley sleep and don't think about it. Take a vacation. You need it.

FOUR WHOLE DAYS!?! Poor you!

Lol, just kidding. Four days without remembering ANYTHING is actually a dry spell. I'm not one to give advice on dream recall, but I CAN say that you just have to stick with it, and try to remember that you've remembered your dreams before; why can't you NOW?!

Also, I know you're not a big b6/b12 person, but maybe try taking some to break out of a slump at least. I mean, that's what these supplements should be for anyways. For breaking out of a slump, not daily use.

As for the alcohol, your shit out of luck! Ah, such is the life of a "beverage connoisseur"...

Don't assume that just because I strongly council others AGAINST using the stuff, that I don't myself. I use both b6 and b12, but, SENSIBLY. A few times a month, maybe. I did use some last night, and I did remember one dream, but I'm not sure how much of that to attribute towards the Bs.

I'm very much the same way, my dream journal has entires for 11/14, 11/15 and for 11/16, 11/17 and 11/8 I just put 'Too Drunk' below

but the next day i always try to get a period of about 6 hours sleep then have my alarm go off and I'll reset it for later in the morning. This usually helps me remember at least 3 dreams between that first alarm and the last one I wake up for...

I feel your pain. I was just starting to get good at LDing when all of a sudden I zero out. I have remembered very few dreams all month and not even close to having a LD. Of course, alot of if is my sleep schedule went out of wack. I plan to get back into a pattern starting this week. Hopefuly things will change soon.

Oh and the b's... I noticed long vivid dreams when I started taking it but after awhile it seemed to have the opposite effect. I never knew you should not take them so much until now. Maybe that is part of my problem as well.

*EDIT* HEE HEE I had two lucids last night after posting this. My body always wants to make a liar out of me. LOL!
