How can I do a Reality Check if...

I'm never near anything that is similar to the standard reality checks. I have never, ever been in a familiar place in my dreams, ever, so using a place to reality check won't work. I don't see text or my hands. I don't turn on light switches or use electrical appliances. Will the whole reality check thing just not ever work for me?

You can't possibly say "...never, ever..." when you're talking about dreams. That sort of attitude will get you nowhere.

Have you tried the nose RC? Honestly that's the only one I ever need to do.

I was just trying to say that my dreams are alwyas in some place my mind made up...sorry if it sounded like a defiant 3-year-old.

OK, yours is a special case. If you cannot recreate your dream signs while awake, recreate them by daydreaming.

Take a few minutes, use your imagination to recreate the scenes as vividly as possible. Really try. When you have succeeded in recreating the scene, keep still with your eyes closed and imagine yourself doing a reality check. Then open your eyes and perform the reality check once more.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

      Seeker is right.
Try this too. Hold your hands out front of you. Really look at them.
Now close your eyes with them still held in front of you. Picture them still there.
Open your eyes and see them. Close them and see them again in your imagination.
Remember the feeling of holding your arms and hands up and seeing them with your eyes closed.
If you can't feel the weight of your arms and hands move them up and down a little. Anything to feel them there.
If you do this a few tmes a day it should help.
Remember sometimes the slightest thing you see in the day, even the most insignificant can be the subject of your dreams.
I am lucky, I am in front of a computer and use a Saltcube online timer to do a reality check every 30 mins.

im sorry, I refuse to believe you NEVER have dreams in surroundings you know in real life.

look, it probably would take some adjusting to...but maybe take a quick read at

it teaches just "general observation". If you are in some unfamiliar place...you will be able to work it out if you become an good observer as taught by that technique.

Although, it is pretty intense if you are new to the lucid idea. Just thought it could help

Why don't you just do a RC whenever you're in an unfamiliar place?
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.
