      Hmm...

Started getting interested in LDing again after about seven months of inactivity.

Repeated "I willl remember my dreams" three times with five-minute intervals between saying each one.

Woke up at my normal time - couldn't remember a single one.

But then half an hour later, my dreams came unbidden while I was eating breakfast - clips from two dreams at least. It was too late to write them down though, and I can remember a small clip from one dream.

That was really irritating. Does it happen to other people too - remembering dreams a bit later, but not when you wake up?

      welcome back!

this happens to me personally; and lots of my friends (non-lucid dreaming types) have this same thing. Even with lucids! Its quite frustrating to have to run back to the dream journal! Infact sometimes I have the reverse. Takes me a while to realise Im awake!

but I must say; the more I write in my dream journal the less this happens

do you keep a dream journal? because this may help you to remember that you want to remember them right when you wake up? confusing sentence but I hope you get my idea.

But atleast you are back onto dream-recall. This is the best thing to do before you get into lucidity.

I must agree. The more you feel I must continue trying to dream and the "I rememer now, I will remember later" philosophy.
It doesn't work. You must write them down straight away from experience.
Firstly you get more detail written. Secondly it re-instates the dream you had for a DILD/VILD etc. Thirdly it gets you awake for at least 30 seconds to do whatever technique requires a slightly awake situation.
Besides all that, with writing in your dream journal you can later see communal dream signs and develop better dream recall.
So it tells me to take the time to write in your dream journal.

All the time. It's usually when something happens to you or you see something that triggers the memory.
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.

I woke up very expectantly. Was I trying too hard? Because I remember when I was doing it before, I didn't really expect it to work at all. I was too sceptic. So I was very surprised when I could remember two dreams the next morning, and woke up twice during the night to record my dreams.

      I won't try as hard...

Wow, you know what, I should say that more at school

Thats superb. Night awakenings give you some soul connection with your dream journal. It becomes part of your life. And thats helps to build recall.

When the memmory comes to your head. Its like: Hey.... You have got a mail from your dream world. And you read it. And then you hit a hyperling in it. ANd hola.... there is another mail. With another dream. What a surprise? And what a reward. I always love, when I remember at least something from my dreams. It always helps. And gives more courage to try.

But i never understood, why sometimes our brain refuses to give us the information. .... HMM. We have a task for dream recall forum to find answer about this question.
