Lightbulb The Never Fail RC Is....

What????! The writing one is the most effective, but in dreams you usually can't find anything with writing on it and you brush it off and continue dreaming. Electronics fail in real life, just like in dreams, and it's hard to test electronics in dreams.

What is the most effective, no fail RC that you have used?? And please explain why it works so well...!

The plug your nose and try to breathe RC, IMO, by far the best RC. Also, the count your fingers RC, but that one doesnt work for everyone.

My never fail RC is biting my tounge, in dreams I don't feel pain so I will either just feel pressure or my teeth will go right through my tounge.

Everything makes sense once you stop thinking about it

I have 2. My first is the nose r/c, but I will also look at my hands and text to make sure it's a dream. My other is looking in a mirror. Since I look in the mirror to check my acne, or if I need to shave I do the same thing in dreams. Only in dreams I don't look the same as I do in waking life. So when I see something that looks out of place in the mirror I do a nose r/c then BOOM I'm Lucid.

The two RCs that I do all the time are:
      a) trying to stick a finger through the palm of my hand, and
      b) holding my nose and trying to breathe through it.

I haven't had a lucid dream before (only started this recently) so I'm not sure that you would always be able to stick a finger through your hand while dreaming (I could very easily be wrong). That is why I do the breathing one because if you can't breathe while you're asleep then something is definately wrong.

Sorry, but what does IMO stand for again?

Also, does simply asking yourself "Is this a dream" considered a reality check?
I've only had one lucid dream so far, and that's what my reality check was, and it worked fine.

Nose is virtually unbeatable. Text and mirror are usually fairly reliable, if you have the opportunity.

And IMO means "in my opinion" if I remember my acronyms correctly.

My never failing RC is trying to stick my Hand through a wall. Always has lead me to lucidity in every dream I tried it. I guess it's the non-solid nature of Dream Enviroments.
It's purely visual and only tactile if that is of significance to the Dream's storyline.

I once tried this in a Dream and couldn't move my hand through the wall right away but the moment I poked my finger into the wall it felt different. Not as convincingly solid as in Waking Life, but somehow solid in a questionable manner since the wall gave way JUST slightly under the pressure of my fingers. Like the Green material people use to stick a bunch of flowers in it was as if I pressed into that.

After that I was convinced enought and stuck my hand right through the wall with full conviction and ease.

Sort of. Most people have to do some sort of proof-check though. A RC is supposed to confirm that you're dreaming. Ask the question in a dream and real life and all you'll get is a thought running through your head. If however, in the dream you realize that it IS because of ____ reason, the _____ can be considered an RC.

I just need to wonder at this... what if you had one of those days where it feels like a dream or so unlikely even though it's real, so you bash your hand against the wall o_O

I personally would agree with the nose plug method, it's reliable and independent of the environment. Writing/reading is fine, but most likely only if it's already in progress.
