Do lots of reality checks. Even when you are awake.

The best way to remember to write your dreams down, is to keep a Dream Journal right next to the bed with a pen, open and ready to write in. Even if you forget to do it when you wake up, next time you even think about your dream and writing it down, go write down what you remember of it.

Very soon you should start remembering to write it down as soon as you wake up.

After a week or so, review your journal, start looking for any common themes or signs in there, and make it a point to do a reality check anytime you see or think of any of those things that are common in your dreams. Those are called "Dream Signs", and are basically a big sign that will help you recognize its a dream.

Just improving recall helps with lucidity, as when you become more acquainted with what your dreams are like and how they work, you're more likely to recognize them as such.

      I have a simular problem.
I am terable at willing myself to write it down, I am almost always able to tell myself tha I will remember write it down later.

What I do, is just do it. Or if I get away from my journal I write it down elsewere and transfur it later. Like leave a not in my cell, or email myself if I'm near a computer, or if I'm at school just write it down.

Somthing about recording it helps with remembering it. And things throughout my day tend to remind me of dreaming.

Do so many reality checks. Do ATLEAST 2 everytime you walk through a door way or are somewhere new.

      This works because:
1: It becomes a bigger habit than crack
2: The average person's dream doesn't have consistent setting so if you walk through a door or are somewhere new you reality check and BAM!

if you have trouble WRITING your dreams down in a dream journal an alternative method is to use a digital voice recorder! That way you just pick it up after you awaken and dictate your dream into it. This will improve recall equally as much and is a good alternative for those who have difficulty with keeping a written dream journal.

That's a good idea. But I think the idea of writing it is to instil it in your brain. There is somthing about writing that encodes your brain to remember stuff better. Really we should be saying it out loud as we write it.

the same long term memory link is there for speaking it. When you combine both IE saying it out loud as you write it out then even moreee of the brain lights up and its super effective.
