      Delayed Recall

I noticed something odd. Right when I wake up, I sometimes don't remember any dreams, but anywhere from half an hour to two hours later, I'll start remembering everything in a flood. Does this happen to anybody else?

yea it happens to me sometimes ..... especially when i have a long sleep ...
what happens is that i see something in real life that relates to the dream in some way (like couple of hours after i wake up) and details about my dream just pop up .....
If I knew Picasso, I would buy myself a gray guitar and play ...

Yeah I get it aswell, I think most people will get this at some point or another unless you have perfect Recall, if you see some thing that can relate to your dream, then it triggers a memory jolt and hence the 'flood' of Recall you get.

^^basically, that's it. The memory is hidden in your brain, being filed as unimportant, but when you see something in physical reality that related to your dream, your brain linkes the two events, and the memory is "unlocked," so to speak.

Yes, the same thing happens to me sometimes. I'm currently on a 10-day recall streak, but one of those days, I woke up, and couldn't remember a thing, until I started thinking about what I was going to do that day, and then it sprung a dream memory. Also, one time I went to school, and saw someone in the hallways, which triggered a huge dream flash about that person.

The same thing happens to me quite often. I'll find myself remembering fractions of a dream or sequence of a dreams, but with lots of gaps and blank spaces inbetween.

Hours and sometimes weeks later I would get a RL key, an emotion or image or phrase that would unlock the rest of the memories.

It took me a while to realise that it wasn't just utterly random but that something made me remember.

*shrug* That's just the way i work...
"... Why is your hair pink?"
"Dunno... Apparently you wanted it to be pink."
"Oh, yah... Heh heh... Wanna go be dragons and fly?"
      "Okay!"

I have delayed recall now, after I started taking vitamin B. I think right when I wake up how I didn't have any dreams, and I'm disappointed that I can't remember, then, I soon remember one piece and it all comes together.

I don't think I like the vitamin though. It makes me feel further away from my dreams when I remember them. (I can't explain that any better)

I think it's a lot like amnesia. You just KNOW that something happened and it bothers you to no end, and then like 15 minutes later it just hits you. I know exactly what you mean... Its like suddenly remembering what you did yesterday, and being so confused as to why it wasn't obvious, though only two seconds ago, you were as distant from that memory as you could be, as though it didn't happen.

Does this ever improve? I would like to always remember dreams as soon as i wake up. Because often, though i never stop trying to remember, they just get lost. Perhaps I sleep too deeply?
