New and a few problems with recall.

This may sound extremely stupid but do actually have a dream EVERY night that we can recall on or is it only some nights.
Just another quick question. With WILD's would having music to "concentrate" on in the background be a valid thing to do.

      Thanks in advance, Oscar.

Sure, music is not a bad thing to have on. Just make sure you can fall asleep while listening to it. You should recall at least 1 dream every night.

Hey, yeah i tried thinking to myself before i slept that i would remember and in the morning about half an hour after i woke up i remembered some stuff. Not sure if it was the same or differents dreams, but its a good start

Also, in these dreams even though they were so un-real life like (if that makes sense) i didnt actaully have the thought that it was a dream. If i "condition" myself to do reality checks would i be able realise that they are actually dreams?

I tend to get 3 dreams recalled. Actually, by my estimation, it's more like 4-6 REM cycles, generally later on in the night/morning, it's just that the same dream will carry over between cycles sometimes. I'm not sure how I'm aware of the cycles, but it just feels like there's an odd break in the dream at a certain point.

At any rate, I usually measure my recall by dream minutes, and I usually get about 25 minutes per night recalled, and usually it's 3 dream storylines. I think I simply forget the rest because it's too hard to keep them all in there without losing one of the others.

On the other hand, last night I had 6-7 dreams recalled, although by the time I got to writing my journal (tonight) they were a little difficult to remember in full. The dreams were really disconnected and random, though, so it's hard to estimate time, etc.

I've always had trouble with getting to sleep with music since it keeps my mind too active, but that's just me, and I've never tried WILDing since I can barely get to sleep as is.

Yeah i don't think ill bother either as of yet becuase sometimes it takes two hours to get to sleep.

Urm how do you know to actually look for a dream sign like what triggers your mind to think "hey i could be dreaming, look for signs." Like example, sometimes when i dream their completely ridiculous, like i walk through glass or am running around in my underwear or theres a jumping castle in my driveway and i dont really think, "Hey, wait a minute, this is a bit odd." :S If i repeat some sort of mantra would it help? I mean i know some dream signs of mine like falling everytime i run (feels like my legs are too weak to hold me up), not being able to throw a proper punch and being able to kong up onto a two story building. However i dont actually think about them at the time.

(thanks for your help DNK and allensig)

Ah, good old insomnia. I've had that too for most of my life. Then it just turned off all of a sudden. My silly brain...

Recognizing dream signs or that you're in a dream is something complicated. I used to do it naturally, now I don't. I can't figure what changed, or put it into words at least. I think it was something very subconscious, wanting to realize I was dreaming, wanting to be in a conscious mindset when I was asleep. Now I guess I'm just too willing to be lazy and go with the dream flow or something.

no, you get into Sleep Paralyzis and then after a while after the HI you end up at random place and then you can move your metal body.
Don't move the physical one, because you won't get into SP then.
      Good Luck.
