      Tape recorder

I was going to get one a few months ago but got kind of lazy. Now that I had some christmas money though, I ended up buying a tape recorder. I am hoping that it helps my recall, since its easier than writing every thing down when I wake up. I need something because I got so lazy, I have not writen anything down in like 3 months. I guess I will see though.

Hmm I think it worked pretty good, except it seems kind of like your talking to yourself and feels weird heh.

i use a tape recorder. its extra work for me because i have to then i have to record it into my dream journal, but it is much better because when i tried going back to writing the dream upon awakening, my handwriting is completely illegibal. with the recorder i talk into it clearly, so when i listen to it to record it, im not in a rush to get the dream down so my handwriting is legibal.

Recording is a good idea. I have the same problem with reading my own writing.

You might try a timer to play your own voice after you fall asleep, telling you about the dream from the night before, & see if you go back to it. Might lead to some real weirdness.

After you have a few hours of tape, you could make some mp3's, then make some cut ups, and play those while you're sleeping.

I think thats a problem with a lot of people. Writing it down when your really tired is a pain, and it gets even worse when you remeber stuff all out of order heh. I typed mine out later in the morning. Now I might remeber my dreams a week later if I try to read them heh.

Do you have family/spouse sleeping in your house as well? Id feel kinda weird being caught by my family recording stuff onto a tape in my bed.

LOL, i have this problem too. ive trained myself to speak clearly into the recorder, just like ive trained myself to actually be non-lazy for a couple minutes to record my dreams.

you should record your sleep!! yea, i remember one time i had a dream that my dad was hitting me or somethign weird like that, and i started hitting my friend in my sleep and i was yelling" stop it, stop it" woa, that was pretty wierd. But also, when scientists study lucidity in labs, when the sleeper is going through REM, they make this sound, and the sleeper has to recognize that that's a sign to be lucid. You could use that recorder to help you go lucid. Like whisper, you are dreaming, you are dreaming. and have someone play it while you're sleeping......just a thought......a really weird thought.
