      Unusual Location Dreamsign?

Looking through my DJ and reflecting on my dreams from the past, I've noticed that all of my dreams occur in places that could be places that exist somewhere in real life ,but that I've never actually experienced. In other words, my mind creates an environment that is totally plausible and not magical.

I'm thinking of a strategy that could help me with RCs and wondered if it would work:

The idea is, I'd look at random images from Google that feature real places (no fantasy images) and then close my eyes and imagine myself in that place (as though I were in the picture but 3d), and then do a RC.

      Could this work?

It probably could, but it would seem like a hassle to search the web just to RC, it doesn't seem natural to me. However, that's just my opinion of course.

I think you should just increase your overall awareness when you step outside your house. And when you're outside for a long time, just remember to become aware, and check out your surroundings every now and then.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

That is the exact same technique I use for the "Lucid Task of the Year." Where we are required to visit all 7 wonders of the ancient world. I look up artwork and paintings of these, and then close my eyes and imagine myself there. It helped me locate these places within my dream and also increase the clarity once I arrived there. You could possibly use this as an RC, but it may not be very effective. Unless these are places that you often visit in your dream. If you find yourself often dreaming of things you did/saw just before bed, then doing this at that time may increase the effectiveness. It is a worth a shot though. You could always throw this in with some other RCs throughout the day and I guarantee it won't hurt your chances at lucidity.

This is a typical dreamsign of mine as well. This and the scrambling of two or more locations that are not geographically related. I can't say for sure if your idea would work per se, but I don't imagine it couldn't hurt either.

All I know is that features of an environment that are in no way related to my RL location [i.e. - mountains, redwoods, jungles, etc; stuff that simply doesn't occur in my local] is usually a trigger to RC in and of itself. Because geography and topography are so apparent and ingrained in our day-to-day lives, a significant alteration to inconsistency in them is usually enough to second-guess your surroundings, IRL or otherwise.

The only think I can think of is maybe to pay closer attention to major landmarks, especially the ones in your waking environment. Then any major landmarks in your dream environment might seem more abnormal to you.
