      No recall on Weekdays :(

My dream recall is pretty much non-existant on weekdays.
I think it's probably due to me not getting enough sleep in the week; I generally sleep from 11:00 - 6:30, which gives me 7.5 hours of sleeptime. At the weekend I normally sleep about 9 hours, and generally get much better dream recall. (In fact, the only dreams I've recalled in my dream journal on here have been from the weekend).

I know from experience that if I try and go to sleep earlier, I feel awful getting up in the mornings. Although it seems weird, going to sleep at 11:00 means I get to sleep quicker and can wake up by myself instead of being woken up by the alarm or parents.

Are there any suggestions to try and fix this? Would going to bed MUCH earlier (09:30?) help? I think that would fit in with the sleep cycle length so I'd manage to get up ok.

Well at least I'm getting quite good recall on weekends, so that's a mitigating factor I guess...

It's a shame though, because I'm unlikely to have much success getting lucids if I can't remember enough dreams. Maybe I'll be able to start getting recall with under-average hours of sleep, but I doubt it for the moment.

Like you I have short week nights - I only get 6 hours.

Like you I used to suffer from dream "blackouts" during the week. I found supplements help. DMAE is good for recall. I also take a couple of N-Acetly L-Tyrosine before bed. Everytime I have a dry period then N-Acetly L-T works every time.

I am still looking for the holy grail of Lucids midweek with only 6 hours to sleep - but I can at least have long vivid free dreams with DMAE and N-acetly L-tyrosine.

I've actually been having a similar problem. It seems that my natural schedule isn't meshing with my university schedule. (Work until 10:30, get up at 7:00) Perhaps next semester schedule will give me a better sleep schedule.

that's because on the weekends you sleep later, and the early morning is when you have rem period. I notice I'm more likely to Ld on a weekend morning, but I recall better on weekdays. This is because my alarm wakes me up from my dream.
