recall half the picture...

hey im fairly new to this and im trying to increase my dream recall before i start to even think about LDing... to the point, last night i awoke three times during my sleep, i know that each session of sleep contained a dream, however i cannot remember them at all apart from 1 small detail in the second dream... i also have a lot in my dreams that i can remember things that have happened but no real picture or image to go with these events, for example 2 nights ago i was in some sort of monestary, but i have no idea what this place looks like, neither can i remeber the faces of a person i met... hope u can help me out with any of this disorganised mess but any help would be greatly appreciated...

I have this problem a lot, as well. Mostly it is the dreams I have throughout the night, I don't tend to have this problem with the dreams I remember as I wake up in the morning. I think the main thing to do is persevere. If you don't recall what it looks like - take note of what you do recall - the fact that you were in a monastery. It's a start! I often recall more at the suggestion of random things that then link back to that somehow and then I think, "Oh yeah! I remember this now!" Sometimes I throw random words into my head - or words associated with dreamsigns - and they help me to remember something from the previous dream that was associated with the random word. I rarely remember what the people in my dreams actually look like, or who they were and so far I haven't been able to overcome this.

thanks for helping... in my dream journal i try to write down all that i can about my dream, sometimes they seen to be a series of disjointed scrawlings but i will keep it up and see what my future dreams hold...
