i was having a little trouble remembering more than one or two dreams per night and then a few days ago i played a terrifying viedo game (fatal frame two), then meditated for a half hour, then watched an odd movie (pippa lee), and then went to sleep. normally i use a loud alarm but i used just the vibrate function and i woke up before it went off each time and remembered vivid dreams. this was because a) i was a little freaked out going to sleep, b) i was more aware about the times to wake (4.5, 6 and 7.5 for recall) because i knew i might not hear the alarm, c) because when you wake up to an audio alarm it's kind of jarring and makes you think "what the hell?" and so you think about something else and a vibration is much quieter so you can focus better, and d) because meditation makes you more aware in general. since that night it's been four or five per night and i never know whether i heard the vibration or not. i'd recommend putting it on a hard surface close to your head so you can hear it better. i'm also considering putting it in the pillow case or something but it's a cell phone so it seems wierd to be sleeping on something all night that emits signals... tumors...
