It could be, but usually people tend to have something a bit more solid that crops up. Have you been keeping a dream journal? That's the best way to spot them. Could be something obvious like water, animals, a person, who knows. If you don't find any (hopefully you do though), maybe try to get in the habit of doing the "how did I get here" reality-check. That means throughout the day you try to remember the last hour or so- the events which led to you being where you are, right now. If you're dreaming there will nearly always be a major red flag there. Maybe practice it in waking life every time you change location. Like, do it when you're having breakfast, in class (if you're a student), at lunch, when you're playing sports, and when you go out in the evening.
