the most spiritual dream i ever had - meaning? help?

I have excellent dream recall - i keep a diary of all dreams but one that i will ALWAYS remember but never shared i would like to share with you lot and ask for your help oppinions. It was the most spiritual dream I ever had and im sure i was on a completely different plane of consciousness. I was in a lucid dream and had saw a TV program on meditation and astral projection. I decided to try it. I have tried before. In a LD letting myself go but holding on in my mind I began to float but have always been frightened and woke up before. EXCEPT FOR THIS TIME. I rose up and up there were flying colours and mist then when it cleared I was on some stone steps rising up and up.then i was on what i can only explain as a plateux I thought id died and gone to heaven I was amazed by what I saw. There was a beutifull white palace like the taj mahall or simillar but really really white and glistening. Then I was meat by a beutifull lady. I have no same sex attraction but she was the most beutifull thibng id ever saw. she was dressed in a floaty white toga type dress her feet were bair she lokoed greek of origin with lovely brown long curly hair. She congratulated me on finally arriving and help out a hand and asked me to follow. I did. She led me to a type of cavern where there were cues of people waiting to enter. We got just inside the enterance and i asked where we were going. She said she was taking me to a place of worship. I told her I was not religious and I didnt want to go with her (this has depressed me for years!) she placed out her hand and indicated to the right. You need to be in there then she said. Then I was a dark room but surrounded by what I can only describe as pictures lijke stained glass windows. Vibrant colours everywhere there were images of her and what looked like the christian jesus and the palace outside then when i fell to my knees n awe i woke up. I am not religious and never have been. I never attend church, i wouldnt say i dont believe in god (sorry if i offend) im just not sure. But all I know that for years I think of this dream and i was left wishing i had followed her. It was far from an ordinary dream as i knew what i was saying and doing all the time. what are your thoughts ideas on this.

Well, I'm no guru (I'm just your typical heathen/pagan/eastern philosophy kinda guy), but since no one else has responded, I'll take a wild guess at what your dream means:

The angelic woman could be your "higher self" or simply an ideal which (up until then) you unconsciously were aspiring to. Know what I mean? Intellectually, you may be turned off by all the BS promoted through organized religion, but deep down maybe you want something sacred to believe in anyway?

I would guess the woman represents the idea of ancient wisdom/belief systems that pre-date the onset of dogma, sin, and science in human culture. The Greeks had a very innocent and pure way of believing in things like gods and magic. Maybe deep down you want that too?

I'm thinking the "dark room" to the right was like a "waiting room" of sorts. You didn't say how you felt there, but it didn't sound too bad. Am I right? Maybe it's just a place within yourself that is waiting to decide what to believe in and that's ok.

So I guess that, in a way, you feel like you're still in that dark room wishing you'd gone with the angelic woman? If so, my personal suggestion would be to look at it like this:

You chose to enter the dark room for a reason. Maybe that room has served it's purpose and now you're ready to choose to leave it. So rather than focus on the old choice you made and the results of that choice, think of all the choices you still have available in your life and the endless possibilities that still lay before you.

Instead of wishing you'd gone with her then, think of how you can seek her out now (or rather what she represents to you), whether through another Lucid Dream (maybe you can conjure her up?), or meditation, etc. Perhaps even just seeking to re-create the feelings she invoked in you will bring you closer to what you feel you "missed," like reading something that appeals to your more spiritual side (even if it's just a good fantasy novel or an uplifting movie, or something), or even visiting an art museum, whatever makes you feel "alive."

Anyway, I would just look at it as a sign that some part of you wants to grow in some way. The trick is to feel within yourself where those parts are, and nurture them in the best ways you know how. See how it feels to stretch your belief system a bit.

There's an old saying about how when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Maybe if you spend some time doing a little "soul searching" on your own, one day she'll come looking for you!

Hope that helps somehow and thanks for sharing your dream. It got me thinking about my own way of seeing things. Now if I can just have another LD, I'll go looking for my Higher Self and ask them about it...
