I don't have any really recent pictures. But maybe I can try something. I'm just one of those people that is way more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it.

Yeah, it's an amazing area. Never below 30 C that entire trip, and that's the brown I got (which is really good for me). Thanks to you, too.

If your camera has a macro option (on some cameras, that option is pictured by a plant icon), or something similar that lets your camera focus at a short distance, then you can do it perfectly. If it doesn't have that option, but your camera has a high Mega Pixel count, then you could take a few pictures of your eye until you find the shortest focus distance for your camera... then just crop it in the computer and voi-la!

It might take a few tries to get the picture to not be blurry, but the result is worth it!

Yeah, that eye picture is INTENSE. Such clarity, it's unreal. I'm going to try that, but I doubt it'll be that clear.

I added on another eye shot since you liked the first.

Like tyrant said, I used the macro function on my camera. I also shone a strong light right into my eye to light up the iris, otherwise the cornea tends to reflect and mess up the clarity. It leaves an afterimage, but bright lights will never harm your eyes, only ultraviolet light will, so don't worry. Prime positioning if you want to try is up against a wall (so your head won't move) and I rested the camera on my cheekbone for extra stability.

I'm fascinated by eyes and I'm an amateur photographer, so I put a good deal of thought into these things. Ame's eyes are amazing, by the way.

If I ever get a camera with decent picture quality, I'm gonna do the same.

Haha, I tried getting as close as you, but everytime it just gets blurry. Even when I stare straight at a light.

How many megapixels do you have on your camera?

Five. I forgot to mention the one major problem I had - eyelashes!! I have pretty long eyelashes, so every time my camera auto focused, it would end up with perfectly clear eyelashes, but the iris itself would be fuzzy. I don't know how badly you want the picture, but you might try holding your eye open while you focus, then relaxing for the actual picture.

gnome--I really like your pictures. The eye close-ups are amazing. I'm going to have to try that too.

And I also really like the doorknob reflection picture. I have always loved reflection pictures. I wish I had shiny doorknobs!
