      Well, I failed.

      Here's what happened:

I slept and did WBTB fairly successfully. I didn't stay up for too long after my WBTB - just a bathroom break and that was it. Maybe I should try staying awake longer? Who knows.

Anyways, when I went back to sleep, I tried to focus on my breathing and keep my mind awake. I definitely got the SP feeling, but I just couldn't "go to sleep." I would see things very murkily, like in a grey haze, but I couldn't get them to form a dream or enter any sort of dream state.

      Argh.

      Anyways, dreams for the night:

      1. All I remember was I was on a beach of some sort and I got hit by a large car with a smiling face. Yeah. A little odd, but they're dreams.

      2. I was snowboarding, or rather, watching someone snowboard (it was like an in-air view, like there was a camera above the snowboarder. Like in that game SSX Tricky if anyone's ever played that) and they were jumping really high - it was some sort of race. Every time they would hit the snow after a large jump it would shatter like glass.

That's all I got for the night. Hopefully tonight will be a little more successful.

It sounds like you were pretty close--you hit SP and were able to get some imagery. It takes a bit of practice but you CAN stabilize the dream at that point, usually by visualizing yourself touching the wall or touching something in the dream.
