      MatchBox420's Workbook

Okay so...I feel like maybe I should be riding the short bus to this class...I don't think I have ever meditated...unless that includes sitting at the river, tuning out the world and zoning on the flowing water?

Lesson 2: read the lesson, then I read it again. set my alarm on my phone for 15 minutes. I got very relaxed and cleared everything out, focused on my breathing. It was a little strange after a few moments I felt like a slight pressure on my forehead but went with it. felt like i wanted to fall asleep. I am not sure I can remember the last time i felt so relaxed. I think I'm beginning to understand something that has been bothering me lately. i think next time i will find a different way to let myself know its time to stop, the alarm was to much.

Matchbox, thanks for posting in your workbook thread!

I know what you mean, alarms sometimes can be too sudden, and with meditation, it's best to come out of it slowly and stay relaxed. I actually think I posted here a few days ago, but I forgot to click the Post button! My advice would be to continue with the meditation if you're finding it beneficial, and maybe try focal meditation at some point if you want to .

You could maybe try an alarm which starts off very quiet and gradually gets louder, if you have anything that works like that. I don't know about new phones, but older Nokia phones could do something like that, where they had a ringtone which was quiet at the start and got louder and louder (Ascending I think it was called).
