      New Subforums

You may have noticed that the subforums have been moved around and renamed. Mainly this was done to prevent any further drama or accusations of us stealing anything.

This thread is for any comments and suggestions on the subforums.

Noice. As far as DVA Staff...how should we do this? Do we need to have some sort of organizational structure?

Hmm I'm not too big into hierarchies...I think that most decisions should just be based on a consensus? At this point we still need to grab volunteers and anyone interested in teaching or organizing. I think that regular DV staff members should have a say on all the big decisions done here, to make sure we have some oversight.

As far as separating professors and DVA staff, personally I didn't think that was necessary but it's still up in the air. Not to say that all DVA staff must teach or all teachers must help organize. If we end up needing to bring back a prof. only subforum, then no problem there.

I'm not in favor of a hierarchy amongst staff members, or closing off the DVA from staff...I really hope staff will get more involved eventually. However I do think it might be a good idea to get some volunteers or helpers or teachers aids lol, whatever, from the community. What do you think if we made an announcement about how the DVA is being completely redone, and advertise for people wanting to help get it back up and running. I'd really like to get some help from the general community, if there are those still interested in getting involved. Shift might have stolen them all by now. We can make them part of a DVA committee or something like that, I dunno.

Or we could just open the DVA restructuring up to the whole community and ask them for input. Although that might result in a lot of smart ass "why don't you just allow shift to come back" replies. On second thought, maybe that's not such a good idea.

Hmm yeah. As much as I'd like to go right to the community to ask how things will be set up, people are still angry right now so I'm unsure how much help we'll get. I think a lot of people will refuse to be a part of the new DVA out of protest or to avoid drama or whatever. It's going to be tough. We may have to do a lot of the initial work without getting general input from the community... :/

Ideally we can grab at least a couple of other staffers to help for these first stages of setup. We'll need to ask around to see who among the regular members are willing to help out here, and give them access to DVA staff forum.
