These days I find myself watching TV shows from my youth. Yes, that's right, I'm an old fart. One of these shows was called 'Max Headroom' I have just watched an episode called 'Dream Thieves'. It features a sinister corporation called 'dream Vu'. That steals peoples dreams to show as entertainment on a new TV channel. Its very interesting and worth watching if you can get a hold of it. Its in series 2 - Episode 4 (Google and ye shall find).

For those of you unfamiliar with the show, heres a quick bio.

Max Headroom (1987–1988) is a short-lived but ground-breaking British-produced science fiction television series by Chrysalis/Lakeside Productions made for American TV. The series was based on the Channel 4 British TV pilot Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future. The series is set in a futuristic dystopia ruled by an oligarchy of television networks. It is also has the reputation of being the first cyberpunk series to run in the United States.

Max headroom is purported to be a CGI character generated from the digitised brain of investigative reporter, Edison Carter. Whilst Max looks CGI, he is fact actor Matt Frewer in several layers of laytex. Frewer plays both Max and Edison.

The show is a prophetic look to the future, the emphasis is the technological integration of computers and entertainment. I love shows like this because the so called futuristic technology portrayed, whilst being cutting edge at the time, looks positively Fred Flinstone to what we have now. And yet, you can still imagine it taking place in the future.

Its an excellent show even now, an almost forgotten gem. You need to watch the first episode of series one to get the full premis. I cant rate this show highly enough. Please take the time to track this one down, you wont be dissapointed. The 'Dream Thieves' episode is worth checking out, just for the dream references.
