      Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

      Has anyone seen this movie?
It's directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), and it is awesome. I've never really seen anything like it. It starts off so tame; periodically artsy, mildly funny, and kind of "WTF?"ish.

But in the middle, it does a complete 180, and is suddenly amazing; surreal, bordering on hilarious, eye-popping, action-packed and very "WTF?"ish.

I would say it's as close to live-action anime as I've ever seen (maybe outside of the live-action Advent Children fight on YouTube. Heh).
      Good shit. Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved it. The pacing was very comic book-ish, very odd. 30 minutes in and it's been pretty normal stuff, suddenly a guy comes flying through the roofs and starts shooting fireballs, and Scott just fights back like a boss. I was so mind blown. I'm kind of annoyed I didn't watch it in cinema though

Yeah, it would have been amazing to see, in the theater. Had I known, from the trailers, what I took away from the actual movie, I would have definitely made it a point to go see it. Lol.

And I love how Scott just all of a sudden starts fighting like a maniac. No explanations needed. He just starts kicking ass, all over the place. Lol. I was like , after that first fight. Lol.

That movie was SO friggin win, it's unbelievable. Saw it twice in the theater, 2 days in a row. Amazing!

If you liked it, you should get the books (6 manga sized volumes).

      LMFAO @ Pee Bar.

It's subtle jokes like that, which make this movie so brilliant.

And I might just check out those books!

It was a very good movie. Either the best or the second best I saw in theaters all year. Surprising so few people saw it.

I loved when Scott had a dream that he was in the school hallways. I thought, "Why does this seem so familiar?"

Then I realized that it was the remixed Zelda track is the backround.

I really do suggest reading the comics. They are 100 times better that the movie. I loved the movie, then I read the book, and they killed the movie for me. The movie cut out a lot of it, which is why I think it didn't do so well in the theaters.

      ... I'm gonna go re-read them

PS: Huhwhatsthat, your avatar looks familiar... is that Boxxy?
PSS: Bloody hell, why is the word avatar linked?

LOVED IT!!! went out and got all the books from the library after watching it and read them. it's very true to the source material. a lot of it is identical down to the words that pop up on the screen and the little drawings. i got the sound track too. of course things are missing in the movie but you can only put so much of six graphic novels into an hour and a half movie so i don't count it against them. you know why sex bob-omb is so good? their songs were written by beck! the sound track rocks! it has the beck versions of their songs and the movie versions and a lot of other really great songs that you barely hear in the film.

that movie anime plus video games and comic books and rock and roll! fantastic!

I haven't seen it yet, I was thinking about checking out the comic first since it's not in theatres anymore. The sidescroller video game for xbox is awesome, especially the music.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

Haha, yeah. I just recently read that Beck wrote most of the music for the movie. Good stuff. Did you know that Brie Larson (the girl who plays Scott's ex, Envy) is actually the one singing the CaDH song, in the movie? Awesome voice.

I'd been blown away by the comics before the movie came out, so no surprises, but I loved the movie. Sad that it didn't make more money in theaters, but it will surely be a classic for kids of the '90s and '00s.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
