Thread: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

I still haven't gotten a chance to watch the latest episode yet. My sister's getting married on Saturday so with everyone around helping make preparations, I haven't been left alone long enough to be able to watch MLP. My baby cousin's playing with my feet as I'm typing this. =P If anyone sees me, no doubt I'll be given hell for watching "a little girl's show." xD

Friendship Fridays, anyone? On another forum I visit, we've declared that Friday be the day we post ponies. Plenty of ponies. Nothing obstructive or annoying though, just enough to get the attention of others on the board. It's been working so far but then again, that's a much smaller and more tightly knit community; I'm not so sure it'd work out the same way here. But who cares, just another excuse to post ponies, right? =P

Comics and fanfics I suppose will still be happening, perhaps some of those so far early stage games will be released. Definitely it will go quieter, which is sad, but oh well.

Agreed :3 I saved it, too. I read the document in the morning before I went to school. It really motivated me like fuck. I was so proud, I had hope for humanity. And even more I was really proud that I was actually part of that fanbase, and that gave me the one push to finally post on the board, because I couldn't stand being a background pony when it's so important :3

I just hate how people keep spreading around their hate and ignorance. It's repetitive as hell and it just keeps going in circles. All the bandwagons and so on so forth. This post, that entire thread, actually the entire fanbase, provides a beacon of hope for that.
It seems kind of silly that I make a fanbase, based around a show primarily made for little girls, sound so important and srs bsns. But it also makes sense. This is one of those shows that center around moral stories, life lessons, friendship and just generally how to be a good person. That's basically a price for fans. If they want to be a fan, they're pretty much expected to more or less go by those lessons.
That's unique, I don't think I've ever seen a large fanbase around something that has so heavy and clear lessons in it.

But to be honest. I was disappointed in the thread. The beginning of the thread was full of posts that made me even more proud of the fanbase, but later on it got nasty.
The thread basically turned into a debate about furries, which I think is completely beside the point. Like, completely. I didn't even notice that furries were mentioned when I first read the document.

Personally I think the newest episode was good, not fantamazing like Party of One, but it was good good.

Party of One is definitely one of my favorite episodes. Pinkie Pie's almost tied with Applejack for my third favorite pony now. <3 They paid extra attention to the facial expressions on this episode, I hope they do that for each new one from now on. The Best Night Ever was enjoyable to watch a but it wasn't the best episodes we've had had; that being said though, I think it was a good way to end the season. I wonder how long it'll be until the first episode of the next season airs.

I must admit I loved the "At The Gala" song. Bit of a sucker for great big choral numbers.

My brain kinda broke at Celestia's nephew actually existing, though. A nephew is the son of a sibling, right? Yet it's highly improbable for Luna to be Blueblood's dam, considering she would've been too busy being imprisoned in the moon. Gah... just gotta remember what MST3K taught us: You should realize it's just a show and you really should relax...

He's Celestia's nephew? I must have missed that bit, I just assumed he was royalty from some other part of Equestria. xD

It was way back in the Ticket Master episode.

He did have that cutiemark, so it's probably just some far removed relative. In Americuh you call everybody your nephew.

Rainbow Dash's solo was absolutely fantastic. Entire song was great!

I agree the episode wasn't all I'd hoped, perhaps just as the Gala wasn't all the ponies had hoped. But in the end I was totally amused by Fluttershy's performance! Someone needs to make a still shot of her saying "You're going to LOVE ME!!!"

The show itself is pretty good and the bronies are making a fuss about it all over the internet so they can get others to watch. That pretty much sums it up.

I dunno, it's quite fascinating.

I just like the show, and the fact that there's a huge fanbase going on around it just makes it a lot more fun to be part of the fanbase.
But why it boomed the way it did, I seriously have no idea.

It's just nice to watch. Light hearted, entertaining, somewhat addictive. It appeals to all types of people and that is why it's successful, if you ask me.

On a completely different tangent...
If male MLP addicts are BROnies, does that make those of us female addicts out there... dare I say it... HOnies? If not then what else?

They are bronies too. We are all bronies.

Anyone reading Fallout: Equestria?
I'm really enjoying it.

At first I thought of it as a funny little crossover thing. I like Fallout, I like ponies, so what's not to like? But other than that, the pony part of it just seemed off, and there were some amusing puns here and there, to 'ponify' the Fallout universe. (eg. Vaults are Stables)
But after a while, more and more things that are completely unrelated to Fallout starts to enter, and it really works well. There's plenty of elements from MLP being explored, cutie marks, the elements of harmony and of course friendship. At the same time, many original ideas are introduced aswell, which truly makes it stand out as a true story, not just a for-fun crossover thingy.


I loved the picture so much I set out to make it into a wallpaper. Thanks to the lovely art style, that was no problem at all!
