      Half-Life and motion sickness?

I recently got out my ancient copy of Half-Life 1.
I was enjoying it, despite it's old shitty graphics.
I don't know what went wrong but after an hour or so I felt like I was going to puke.

Maybe it had something to do with the resolution? The difference of size between my monitor back then and now?

Maybe my graphics card was too new and wasn't supported.. Maybe XP wasn't full compatible..

      I don't know.

But I mean.. what the hell?
      HL1 gave me motion sickness?!

Do you often play 1st person shooters?

My flatmate this year couldn't watch us play Halo 2 because she got the same feeling.

I have no idea why it would have that effect.

Hope you find the cause of it, and continue the gaming!

(Oh and if you find out that it is motion sickness, try ginger, I heard that it's good for motion sickness..... and if you like ginger then it's a WIN WIN situation!)

The gaming industry is falling to the pits.

I want them to bring the retro stuff back!

      Bring back Deus Ex!
And I want Team Fortress Classic 2!

And I shall try ginger next time I'm carsick or so! I didn't know that worked.

Half Life one is still one of the best game's ever made. And the grapics are kind of good to (for like 1997). Grapics are overrated. It's about the gameplay dammit! Like deus ex, even at the time the grapics sucked, but damn what a great game.

Half life 2 did game me Some motion sickness, the hovercraft part. It's becouse it uses an angle of 75 degrees, and normal games (and half life 1) use 90 degrees. So that doesn't really make you sick in general.. weird.

half life 2 is an ok game btw. The action wasn't as nicely paced as HL1, it was a bit to commercial and OH-LETS-MAKE-IT-MYSTERIOUS-thingy.

all first person shooters and driving games make me want to throw up. My brother was forever saying 'come and play this two player' but i couldn't, because i'd get half an hour in and have to stop.
I feel sick just thinking about it...

Yeah, my cousin never played FPS's because of that very reason. How long were you playing for? Maybe you just needed to take a break.

I just played Half-Life 1 for the first time (only £6 ). And quite suprisingly I did get motion sickness, and that says alot coming from me since when I go to a theme park I can spend like 10 hours per day jumping from one roller coaster to the next and not feel motion sickness once.
