      Sid Meiers' Pirates

i played this game about a year or so ago. it started out pretty fun, but eventually got kinda boring, because it was a lot of the same stuff, over and over.

however, after seeing "Pirates" last night, and planning on going back tomorrow with some friends who missed it last night because it was sold out, i'm thinking of reinstalling it and playing it again.

one thing i remember is that, as the game progressed, it seemed to get kinda draggy and unresponsive.

That's why I never bought it. The reviews said that it was a blast at first, but after swooning all of the governor's daughters and ravaging towns, it got redundant. Isn't there eventually going to be and actual PotC game?

(Only game that I'm pumped about is FFXII)

The first one I have, but it has nothing to do with Jack Sparrow or any of them, you play a character called Nathanial Hawk, it's actually a pretty good game but it sounds like it has the same problems as Pirates as mentioned in the first post, it just gets really repetitive, but I kept on playing with hope of potentially having an extremely powerful ship and crew, then I got sick of it and uninstalled it. Although sailing is quite hard in it so that kind of put me off playing it.
      Lord of the Rings quotes:

"Behold, I am not Gandalf the Grey, whom you betrayed. I am Gandalf the White, who has returned from death. You have no colour now, and I cast you from the order and from the Council." - Gandalf to Saruman, The Two Towers

"Men of Gondor and Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails... when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship... but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when all hope comes crashing down, but it is NOT this day! This day, we fight! For all that you hold dear, stand, Men of the West! - Aragorn

"Far off yet is his doom, and not by the hand of man will he fall." - Glorfindel

"in Rivendell there live still some of his chief foes: the Elven-wise, lords of the Eldar from beyond the furthest seas. They do not fear the Ringwraiths, for those who have dwelt in the Blessed Realm live at once in both worlds, and against both the Seen and the Unseen they have great power." - Gandalf
