      The Hills Have Eyes...

      Absolute garbage.

I like most movies that I see.
Look. I am only 24 years old. I like parties, getting drunk, illicit drugs, wild uncontrolled uninhibited sex (awe yeah), orgies, and cursing (just to sum it up).
...But this movie somehow found ways to offend me.
I got halfway through it before I just stopped watching it. This is only the second time I have ever stopped watching a film just because it was too much violence. It wasn't the amount of violence, or the severity, it was the particular insensitive nature of the violence.. as if they worked hard at trying to think of the most uncomfortably horrible things that could happen to one poor fucked family.

Exploitation of REAL pictures of deformed human babies, women getting raped by horrible deformed humans, an EXTENDED scene of some poor guy getting burned alive, with delightful close-ups of his flesh boiling off, for those of you who like to watch disgusting things like that. Oh. He's being burned alive in front of all of his male children, and his wife, while his daughters are being raped... I was absolutely pissed off when a beautiful woman is shot right in the head. and for those of you who do not have ANY SOUL WHAT-SO-EVER and aren't insulted yet, one of the stereotyped deformed man points a very large gun at a infant's head.

And aside from just being completely untasteful, the behaviors of these muties make no sense at all. What is their purpose? Their goal? Sometimes they just senslessly kill people, other times they eat people, and sometimes they rape people... sometimes they like to steal things. If they like raping women so much, why did they shoot a very beautiful woman right off the bat? Just because they are deformed doesn't make them retarded.

Furthermore, the insensitivity toward anyone who may be deformed was absolutely outrageous. Again, I am a crude person myself, and I think most people are overly sensative. It's best spoken in Tool's "Vicarious". And I believe that there is a way to morally make a movie of this nature, but showing real pictures of deformed babies, and then portraying these people as being stereotypical stupid deformed people is not the way to make friends. I'm not deformed in any way, and I was insulted.

Not one of the main characters was likeable. I didn't care if any of them died or not, but the movie somehow managed to find a way to make me not want to watch them die even though they are completely unlikeable characters, because it was just violent. It wasn't creative, or different. The director must have planned out the story while taking a shit one day, because he couldn't have spent more than half an hour thinking about it.

These are just the complaints I have after only seeing HALF of it!

I can't believe I wasted two dollars and 15 seconds of my time renting this cinematic turd. Anyone thinking about seeing this movie, take my advice. Save a little money. Just invite your best friend over to your house, murder him/her, spread his/her internal organs all over your body, and then bathe in his/her blood. You will feel a lot better about yourself, and you will not feel SO MUCH like you have wasted your time. Thinking back now, I could have been doing better things with those 60 minutes, like repeatedly smashing my testicles in between two jagged rocks.

      Heed my warning.

      Good!

From some of your recent posts, we were all wondering whether or not we had among us an actual instance of Enlightened Nirvana -- Satori -- Liberation.

From there, we would divide into two schools of opinion. The first, the Way of Ancient Stoicism in agreement with the Original Teachings of Gautama, would have supposed that you would no longer give much of a shit about anything. That you would be at perfect Peace no matter what crap was dumped at your door. You would be like Buddha.

The Other School of Thought would be that you would be Enlightened within the Context of a Higher Spiritual and Moral Sensitivity. Enlightened with Love. This would be in line with a Cosmic Christ way of Being.

Well, this new post of yours settles it. You do CARE. Indeed you have a great deal of empathy for other living things.

      Good. Fuck Buddha.

      Nice post Sloth.

I agree today's horror films are more about torture than anything!!!!

I look a good scare, but its not scarry its just sick, gross and twisted. Movies like this Hostile, Texas Chainsaw etc, just seem over the top of digusting. I'm not sure why people would like watching stuff like this, even its "not real" or its just hollywood. With today's special effects they seem real enough for sure and it puts the sick thought in your mind for second, what is happening to these poor people??. I think seeing stuff like this does damage to your psyche.

It's already a pretty sick world so why would like to glorify it even more. To each it's own I say, but this is NOT ME. Give me a good ghost story, they can be creepy but with none (typically) of the gruesome violence that's too disturbing for the mind.

You stopped watching the film halfway, I stopped reading your description halfway through. That is just disgusting. By the way, how the hell did you find that movie in the first place? I'm gonna be sick . At least you were disgusted, if you enjoyed it...then I would be very scared.

They made a commercial for that?! I assumed it was a cheap budget film made by a bunch of perverse idiots who could barely afford the props. I'm gonna have to assume the commercial was a lot less gross than the movie if you actually went and saw it.

Don't you hate movies that are violent, JUST for the purpose of being violent?

      Like Saw I & II.
But at least those had an almost okay plot.

Thanks, sloth. I don't remember if my sister went to to see it, since she's also into scary movies. But if she asked me to watch it (if she hasn't seen it), now I know to initiate the avoid at all costs maneuvers.

Haven't seen it yet, and have no desire to.

My friends were talking about watching Hostel at a party one night, but I heard enough about that not to want to see it, either, so I basically drank myself into a coma and passed out on the couch, about 15 mins into the movie.

haha right on, O. Much better use of your time, I say!

Holy crap is all I can say to that, sloth. Holy crap. Movies really are garbage these days, and it sounds like you've discovered a nugget of the purest, stinkiest crap out there. I read on wikipedia that tv and movies can generate the same traumatic memories as actually experiencing what you're watching. That is, if you watch a violent film, you generate memories in the region of the brain connected with traumatic childhood memories, the type of memories that can actually make you disturbed.

Now I don't have much against violence compared to most people, but if there's one thing I hate it's SENSELESS violence. If this film used those images to make a noble point, I would have no problem with it. But using real life images of dead babies just for the sake of having a superbly violent film will probably do little more than cause a subconscious hatred of deformity in anyone who watches it. In fact, it probably appeals to that same hatred and makes it grow in anyone who already has it.

I'll be sure not to watch this movie, as well as interject something like "YOU SICK FUCK!" at anyone who mentions liking it.

I didn't know that crap about creating memories in the brain and blah blah blah about tramatic childhood memories and junk. That is a sure sign that men are not supposed to watch that crap all the time. Hundreds of already fucked up people (fucked up enough to watch a gore movie), and now they are messing with their BRAIN CHEMISTRY! That's really not good. You can predict that there will be bad adverse effects.

Bad movie producers! Bad! Shame on you for contributing to the downfall of humanity.

It's a sentinel, getting poked by a guy. (that's the best explination I can offer)

Oh, and I'm looking through IMDb, and guess what. There's going to be a Saw III, a Hostel II, and Young Hannibal. I'm surprised I don't see a "The Hills Have More Eyes... Again."

Ooo! But they're making a CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Aw, yah! Now that's more like it! *prays* "Don't screw it up! Don't screw it up!"

      YES! Turtles ROCK!
Although, they will probably make the turtles kill mass numbers of people in horribly greusome ways. That's the only kinds of movies that are out these days.

Man, if they tried to do that, they'd have so many angry people from the 80s returning the favor! (I'd be one of them)
