I think the Starwars Soundtrack is one of the most melodic and complex ever written. I have heard many original film scores, but I haven't found any that have compared with the Star Wars original trilogy soundtrack. The orchestration is so complex, and John Williams uses a style called Leif motiff where he writes themes for different characters and places or events. The starwars soundtrack has much more depth than any other soundtrack I've heard, its just excellent.

Another good film composer is Danny Elfman, he writes beautiful pieces but I'm a bigger fan of John Williams pieces because they can be listened to again and again because of the complexity of the orchestration. I was wondering if any DV people listen to classical music or have any favorite film scores.

I love music by John Williams. I've got all the Star Wars soundtracks except Episode 1. And I love 'em. I really love the opening piece on Episode 3 called "Star Wars and The Revenge of the Sith". Of course the Anakin/Padme love theme is also wonderful.

I listen to classical music alot. My flavor of the month this month is Vivaldi. Can't get enough of him.

John Williams is amazing. Any really memorable piece of movie music is usually John Williams. I had the Original Trilogy Soundtracks but lost them in my many moves. Currently only have Episode 3 and liking that very much.

Another I listen to often is Music from Braveheart, James Horner. The same theme carries through most of the pieces and it's a nice soundtrack to accompany daydreams.

I have all of the LOTR CD's, Howard Shore. Like most of the tracks and listen to them when I'm attempting to creatively write. Just puts me in a writing sort of mood.

Have more but those are the top 3 I listen to.

Gooood pics. I had 'em both. The song where the wilderbeasts stampede in the Lion King and Jafar's version of "Prince Ali" were the best.

      Yeah definitely!

We have a cat that comes in for boarding at work, who will only calm down if you sing "Hakuna Matata" to him! LOL

      Great minds think alike

oh, and Braveheart has a good soundtrack as well. There's a lot of thunderous war music, but the slow mournful bagpipe tunes are neat.

Star Wars does rock indeed. The sound too. (the old 3 especially.)

I think Mario World also has a great soundtrack.

Edit: How could I forgot! Deus Ex, great game with a GREAT soundtrack.

star wars episode 3 was great...

nearly all the disney film soundtracks...

and the matrix revolutions soundtrack, mainly because of its track entitled Navras...
