So is anyone on here watching the current Ashes series (cricket test matches between Australia and England)? I've been waiting for it since England beat us last time, and I'm stoked it's finally here. Cracked a beer the first ball this morning!

Anyway, I predict a 3-1 win to Australia... England just don't look to be the team that they were last series, although it will be interesting to see how they regroup after today... maybe it was just their nerves, but their bowling attack did seem quite tame. England are going to have to play incredibly consistent and tight cricket throughout the whole series to ahve a chance of containing Australia in their own backyard, and I just don't think they can do it.

Meanwhile, the pitch at the Gabba looks to be cracking up a bit and was spinning a bit for Pietersen today, so Warnie should be quite dangerous in the next few days.

Please tell me that someone follows cricket in this forum...

I've been watching it Roller. It'll be interesting to see how England go on the other pitches. I agree they didn't seem very threatening at the GABBA, but their batting settled a bit in the second innings. They just need their bowlers to step up. Flintoff did well, but that's about it. I'm hoping they can make more of a game of it next match. Not that i want them to win, i just think it would be more interesting if they were more threatening.

I've been watching some of the cricket, but I stopped when I realised that we were just getting absolutely, 100%, embarassingly obliterated by the aussies.

I think they've drugged the food or something.

Yeah the first test wasn't too good for England, but I have the feeling they'll fight back in Adelaide. McGrath isn't looking 100%, and even the notion that this might be like the second test of the previous Ashes might be enough to give England a lift. Adelaide is a batting pitch that doesn't offer too much to the fast bowlers, so it might give England a chance to get a bit more established with their batting.

I live in Adelaide and I'm angry with myself for not trying to get tickets earlier - they're all sold out now, such was the hype of the series, I just hope that it lives up to expectations.

Kind of puzzled as to why England won't play Monty -I think he has a good chance of dominating Aussie batsmen, but maybe they're just waiting till Perth or SCG.
