whoa, it seems like this question is too human for you lol.
My answer is of course PC games are so much better, and you can keep upgrading parts. (This is of course because i play Firs person shooters (FPS)
I think Racing games are about the only think better on a consol, and this just started with the x360, and the ps3, im partailly collor blind and on the ps2's crappy graphics i couldnt even make out the road at high speeds.
thats all i know, im not much of a gamer, only a few hours a week tops.

Well i would choose PC however mine is not that good, plus i heard that you would have to spend more money about three times to get the equilent power from a PC. Plus if you played the MGS games you would know that the next one is being released on PS3 only and i really want to know what happens past MGS2.

I would'nt get it I've heard nothing but bad things about the PS3, from High Definition Scaling Issues to Blue Ray issue and it's mostly because they rushed this console into production. Only advice:

BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I have heard about the problems the psp had a dead pixel problem so i dont know if the ps3 is actuallly safe.
I am not getting a High defintion tv so i dont know if their would be a problem their however blue ray is meant to be risky technology.

Not to mention very expensive technology. I wouldn't buy it until it came down from the rather ridiculous price, no matter what the featureset was. Money better spent elsewhere.

I highly recommend it. Two of my friends picked one up and have had no problems at all.

PC games will always feature superior graphics, unfortunately PC technology is made obsolete soooo much faster. So itll cost you a ton in the long run.

All Depends on what TV you have. If you've got one of those new super big HD ready extra 25% light etc... screens, then the PS3 is going to be amazing on it. If you're like me and have a smallish and rather old TV, then stick to PC games and maybe consider getting a better one. MMORPGs have super graphics and will entertain you indefinitely.

I'd get a Wii instead. PS3's ridiculously expensive (and despite the price, Sony's taking massive losses with each one they sell), it's graphics are not superior to the 360's (yet. Developers are having a hard time utilizing the capability of the cell processor because of its unique architecture), they stuffed the Blu Ray in there which has flaws of its own, it's capability for AI isn't as good as the 360's, and it's bleeding out exclusives like no other.
Most games that were originally going to be only on the PS3 are now being released on the 360, or occasionally the Wii, as well.
Assassin's Creed, for example, is no longer an exclusive to Sony. I've heard rumors both ways on the next Metal Gear, both that it will be on 360 and PS3 and that it's still an exclusive.
Basically, what it's coming down to is that developing on the PS3 is expensive, as is developing on other consoles. But with the PS3, only 2 million or so consoles are out. Period. So even if every single person goes out and buys the game, they're not making amazing profits. To clear something up--selling a game to even one tenth of the owners of a console is considered an amazing feat--so a smash hit for the PS3 could be expected to sell 20,000 copies. Which doesn't mean a lot of profits for the company producing the game. Hence, nobody wants to make PS3 exclusive games anymore.

My honest suggestion--if you want a "traditional" console, and want to play Assassin's Creed, MGS (possibly), and most of the other exclusives Sony lost, then buy a 360. It's not nearly as expensive, and it's graphics are on par with the PS3, and will be for quite a while.
If you want a FUN system, buy a Wii. Cheaper than both the others, and ridiculously fun. Seriously, I was skeptic until I played it, and now I'm a major fan. It's a party machine. You get one, and it's going to become the life of the party--people just LOVE those things. With good reason, too. The games for it are just pure fun.

Anyway. Just my two cents.

No. I've tried one of my friend's PS3's, (Resistance) and one at EB Games (MotorStorm) and both were underwhelming. What I've seen does NOT warrant a $600 price tag. Get a 360, or a Wii. Or both!

I thought ps3 was god, now your telling me it not good. The only reason i wont get a xbox 360 because i dont like fps games and multiplayer/online games. I brought a gamecube ages ago and i dont know whether the wii console will turn out like the gamecube.

A PS3 is alot better for the money, my PC has about the same graphics power as a PS3, and same speed (plus its a computer so its better) And it cost me 1.14 thousand.
So the price of a ps3 isnt really bad.
(i built my PC, a DELL with the same specs is over 2grand.)

IF YOU LIKE FPS GAMES DONT GET x360!!!
Consol for ALL shooting games absolutily suck, the professionals even cant control it, mouse is so much better and you can hook one up to the ps3.

- I reccoment getting a logitec lazer g5 mouse, amazing for gaming, only 45$

Also my friend has the WII, he isnt impressed with the graphics, your arm gets tired fast, alot of the good games are modulated for the WII but they didnt spend much time on it for instance call of duty 3, and red steal, they are both VERY akward to play.

Uh, no. I find console FPS games are really fun. The 360 is a good console, you just have to know which games to buy. Xbox live isn't necessary, but it is AMAZINGLY fun with some games. If you don't want it, there are plenty of games out there that aren't shooters or only good online. Oblivion, Project Gotham Racing 3 and Splinter Cell: Double Agent, for example.

Well i used to play Counter-strike source 24/7 i was on a CAL-Main team, very renound. We are good friends with the CAL-I Clan -Devistation, and we used to ring with them all the time, and my team came in first place LPANE 2006 a few months ago, i played. So i know a little bit about professioanl FPS playing.
Anyway, watch professionals play xbox360 and aim with their thumbs. Say someones on the stairs, they wont even bother aiming at their heads becuase its too hard, they will just strafe and shoot at there legs, stomach chest area.
Were as a PC FPS, In 1/10 of a second i can be aiming in a diff direction then i was onto somones face. Taking into account realisitc recoil and everything, PC (mouse) FPS's are so much better then Consol Games.

I bet you some noob that has been playing a FPS for 6months with a lazer mouse can beat ANY professional playing with a consol.
I say this for myself, If CSS comes out for ps3 or xbox360, i can beat any human being on the earth[u] if they are using the consol and im using a mouse.

Plus its more realisitc, you use your whole arm, you dont shoot a gun with your thumb? Do you?

....
Haha, WOW. Yeah, I think a mouse is better to play FPS games. However, I didn't dedicate years of my life to counter-strike. You sound really "renound."
Console FPS games are fun. Most people, including me, don't care if you can't get off 20 shots at someone's head in a 1/16th inch wide hole within 1/10000th of a second.
Also, you can't play a console game with a mouse. So, sadly, you won't be able to beat 'any human being on the earth' with your 00ber-p0wnz0rz lazer mouse.
Seriously, when did gaming become a profession? It's a hobby.

Dude, PS3 is not better for the money. The only reason it's so expensive is BluRay, which has a ridiculously slow read rate, so the added capacity means little until they up the speed of the drives.
BTW--I've played Wii for four hours straight and longer, and I can testify that your arms will NOT get tired.
Unless you're a "professional" gamer who's arms have deteriorated because the only activity they get is using their LAZER MOUSE to play Counter Strike.
And I found the controls for Call of Duty on the Wii FAR more involving and fun than playing it on 360. It's got a learning curve, admittedly, but it only took me five minutes to get the hang of it, and I have a hard time playing other shooting games now because they're not as fun, not as involving.
BTW, Shyne--
Plus its more realisitc, you use your whole arm, you dont shoot a gun with your thumb? Do you?[/b]
What's more realistic, moving a mouse on your desk and clicking, or pointing a remote at somebody and pulling a trigger?
Yeah, I thought so.

If the Wii was anything like the power glove, it would be a complete failure. So far, I don't think it is.
I've gotten that filling too, but then I play Resident Evil 4. They aren't.

It can be ludicrously expensive and still somehow be bought by somebody.

I wouldn't get a PS3 until they price it normally, and if they will bring out some good games.

I think the must fun for the least money you get from a Wii however, especially if you have people over.

I don't have a PS3, never played it and I seem to be the only person on earth who would like to give it some time to see what it can actually do before speculating on how it stacks up to the competition. So, unlike most of the people I've seen talking about it, I'll just offer a link to some reviews from people who've actually taken the time to, you know, test it. "Surprisingly" enough, many of the reviews I've seen come to a pretty different conclusion than the people whose hearts already belong to other systems.

PC Magazine Review

PC World

Do I think it's too expensive for my taste, at the moment? Yes. Do I think it's worth the cost, though, from everything I've heard so far? Yes.

Test playing it is not necessary when you know the actual system specs. If you know that, then you know exactly what the system can do, and you know how it stacks up. (Or doesn't.) I would much rather go by cold hard facts, than by someone else's opinion of the machine.
Yes, it has some good hardware, but for the price I could get another computer that is better.
The only reason console games are popular is because it doesn't take brains to use them. You just plug it in. If it doesn't work, it must be broken. Punch it a few times. If this doesn't work, it's beyond repair.
