Nope. There is no editing or manipulation of that picture in anyway. I completely did that in game.

Well, I found you can skip walls by using the mouse scroll wheel, but it's still quite difficult.

The last level is pretty hard though if you're playing it properly. I mean, when you have the effing blue ball chasing you.

It really isn't photoshoped. Maybe it looks different the same way, everything looks a bit different for me when I use IE instead of Firefox?
Anyhow. Sub-20 death's is pretty doable. You just have to play it a few times, know the basic patterns. Like the first level after it says "level of DOOOOM" or something, you can just totally ignore the blue blocks flying around, I never lose more than 1 or 2 lives on that level.
