      Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock

      So yeah, Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock comes out today. Hopefully I'll be going to the mall later today, and I'll get a chance to pick it up. Looks pretty promising, wireless controllers, boss battles and face offs now.... Anyone else planning on picking this up?

      ...I don't get these guitar Hero games? The money will get you your own REAL electric and amp pack...a more fun/practical skill than pressing buttons IMO Playing along to CDs is awesome fun! atleast in my opinion

      edit: this wasn't meant to sound rude...it was more a question "why is Guitar Hero so popular?"

      Actually, I do play guitar in real life. It's just sometimes, guitar gets really frustrating, and you just want to rock out, so it's more fun to take a break and jam out on Guitar Hero. Also, it makes a great party game, when you get some people together who actually aren't half bad at it.

      Everyone says "Why not play real guitar?" when they wouldn't have any objection to someone playing halo or any other video game instead of guitar. It's just a fun game. Thats why it's popular

      Hell yeah, after a few beers and funnels, whack on Guitar Hero, so much fun to be had. This nightclub I go to which just opened has a game night in one of the bars. Last week they had tennis on the Wii and they were giving away the Wii's I think they had 5 - This week its Guitar Hero

      the difference is video games are usually escapism you know...to things you couldnt really do...
      racing ferraris around italy
      saving the universe from complete destruction in the case of Halo....
      using skill to command armies or infiltrate terrorist bases...etc...all that stuff.

      whereas; a guitar is not so hard to access.

      although...I understand the party game aspect; thanks for filling me in everyone!
