Thread: Halo 3

I was really enjoying the game until the High charity mission... from then it kinda went downhill in my opinion. Not only do I personally hate flood missions, but the story just kinda lost its oomph after high charity. It all kinda tapered down, and the last mission was really not that great at all. The final movies, both of them, were awesome though. What a great ending. Although it couldn't have killed them to show a shot of all the flood getting vapourized or something. It seemed kinda rushed.

Still didn't spoil it overall though.

To anyone who's played all three Halos: Is this one better than the first two, or about the same?

I thought the original Halo was the better of the first two.

I liked the original, more unpredictable the first time around.

I think Halo 1 and 3 are around the same. The second is below.

Although I hated the second one, this new one has really made me a fan. The game play's as fun as the first one was and the story is acually interesting. Although I hate the flood missions.

Im loving it as well, beat it the first day I got it. Since then went back on legendary and got all the skulls, ive been playing live mostly now.

The achievements are insane...
I have given up on trying to get them all.
I'm helping the hunt for the recon armor.
So far only Bungie employees are known to have it, but they've been releasing strange hints.

Man, it's cool. I play online quite regularly and beat the campaign pretty fast. I thought it was too short, but multiplayer never expires, so it balances out.

The legendary clip at the end doesn't really show much.

I have to say that the last level is awesome though (the driving part).

Gh, I think that the ranking for the 3 would be 1>3>2. Three had a lot less story/character development than 2, but it's expected because they had to wrap everything up somehow. The focus of 3 is on Master Chief and Cortana, 2 is on Master Chief and Arbiter, and 1 is on Master Chief and Cortana.

It took about 96 hours of gameplay, but I finally beat it on Mythic.

Just beat it yesterday (yes i know im late) I thought it was okay, still dont see what the big hype about the story line is.

Yeah the story line isn't something I got into...It just never "grabbed" me like Half-Life does.

people talk about how amazing it is, and how cool master chief is, i just dont see it. I mean, he saved the world, okay. But ive seen cooler.

Halo 1's storyline was great, the other kind of lacked. I think they should have hired a professional writer to make sure that they didn't forget loose ends and plot holes.

The thing is, I find that the story is being concentrated on to much withing games, I mean why do you think Halo 1 became so popular? Gameplay, and innovation

I mean having a great story is a plus, but for me, the gameplay's where it's at.

Anyway, I think H3 summed up the series well, campaign's pretty good, graphics are amazing, and XBL is awesome.

I loved the first games storyline the most, just because that whole Flood phenomena came out of nowhere and shocked you. I liked the last two games just because it showed Earth in the year 2552 and allows your imagination to just run rampant with the haloverse possibilites.

eh i thought the storyline was pretty ok and fotr the technology wehad was more relistic. No wayy fancy spaceships with loads of sheild and lasers n such.

I thought the story line was ok all thewaythrough but i hated the Character Captain Keyes's daughter. She was crap in Halo 2 and worse in Halo 3, some of those like one liner things are annoying.

AND ALL THE TIMES SHE'S LIKE " WHEN HALO FIRES...EVERYTHING WILL DIE!"!!

yeah we know.... we knew before you, lol.

I'd say the cut scenes, especially in Halo 3, are pretty great.

My two favorite twists in the storyline are probably...( my first spoiler tags ever!!! EVER!!)

Spoiler for don't cool if you haven't finished halo 2 and/or halo 3:

In Halo 2 when you meet Gravemind, i never really expected some sentient riddle maker as their collective leader.

Then again in Halo 3 when the flood ally with you for that short part of the level, so cool having them with you for once. It's my favorite part of the game because i love the new graphics for when someone is infected by one when they are alive. You know like kinda being sick and mutating while their standing up, so cool. So i just play that part and try and down my enemies shields and watch them try and jump out the way of infection forms and get turned into an ally. BWAHAHAHA!
