I've never been insulted for not really caring about football, but it is true that it is so popular here it is unbelievable. Americans who don't like football are very, very rare. I will be sitting in a room with some of the most hippied out, tree hugging, spirituality seeking, poetry writing, natural food eating, tie dye and dread lock wearing stoners in La La Land, and if the television ends up on a football game, they freak out and sit on the edges of their seats and start talking a bunch of, "Oh, damn! The packers are three behind and on the forty-five. Farvre needs to get more yardage on the fourth down, but he's dealing with a one straight dog defense formation." WTF????? Seeing that is a little spooky because I know that if they give that much of a shit about football, then everybody else does too. I have met two people in my entire life who say they don't give a damn about football, and one of them ended up getting into it because his girlfriend likes to watch it. What is up with this stuff?

My brother had his tire slashed one time because he made a smart ass comment about Mississippi State's football team. That is how out of hand this stuff gets.
