I read the first two books.

First I read the second in the series back when the third wasn't out...and then I read the first after but looking back they bother weren't that interesting.

To be honest it is incredibly cheesy and for beings that lived for hundreds of years they are a little bit on the slow side if you know what I mean...

Doesn't that make it seem a little bit like he doesn't love her for her but rather for that one thing that makes her different?

Will I ever read the rest of the series? No. I will however look at wiki to see if Bella ever got turned.

      **Spoilers**

It bugs be that Edward is nearly perfect in every way.
      - Supposedly the best looking person on the planet.
      - Brilliant, given his extensive time on Earth and education.
      - Can read minds.
      - Has super strength and speed.
      - Is basically altruistic, self-sacrificing, well-mannered, sophisticated.
      - Is extremely rich.
      - Is a vampire which in itself provides him with a kind of mystique.

Bella, on the otherhand, is not spectacular is anyway other than the relatively minor fact that she has no problem that he is a vampire.

Doesn't the relationship seem so manufactured to be a school-girl fantasy?

Sorry, I don't mean to criticize too much. After all, that is probably who the book was written for. I really did like the books anyway... maybe i'm jealous?!

What did you think of the casting choices?

Maybe, just for a second, you'll be awestruck.
      ...do you feel it to?

well it was written by a woman what did you expect a thrilling action packed horror or a mysterious love story?although i have read some good horrors written by women just not the best.(i was actually hoping it wouldn't be so mushy and lovey dovey. my friends turned me on to it saying it was a vampire book. )

I don't like it because the vampires sparkle instead of die when they go into light.

I really like this series, and I resent that comment about women not writing action-packed novels... How sexist is that!

The story really appeals to me. I don't usually read vampire books, but I like this one because it's a new and unique take on vampires. I really like the whole not dying in the sun bit.

True, the vamps could be a bit more.. something.. after living all those years. But hey you can't assume that a non-human brain will keep evolving year after year, century after century. Perhaps there's a stopping point.

I'm really excited for the movie. At first I didn't think Pattinson fit the role, but after a few days of watching trailers and interviews and everything, aaaack I think he's perfect!

      Spoilers:

I am annoyed though at Jacob. He's just a dumb teen as far as I can see. He has no reason to be so hostile toward the Cullens. Just shows that he's too young to know anything. I also don't like just how HUGE he is. Makes me wonder how he can be attracted to Bella at all. I mean she's a measly 5'4 when he is well over 6'5 by the third book!

But I really like how Bella sees herself as ordinary, how she has all these mental problems, etc. Strangely makes it way easier to like her and relate to her.

Anyway, all in all, a million thanks to Xox for alerting me to the existence of this series!

And no one should have to wait til Christmas or whatever to get the fourth book. It costs all of what, 20-25 bucks?
