      Far Cry 2 :D

If you don't have it yet, buy it! The whole game is amazing with endless oppurtunities, for example, i was scouting out a enemy camp, through my silenced snipers scope i shot a guy in the leg, he was on the floor and his friend came and lifted him up and carried him, i then shot both. I figured out the wind direction and set the savannah grass on fire, the fire swarmed the camp and burnt the two injured men to death! Brilliant!

      Sounds... fun.
My pc is probably too weak. It can't even run Crysis properly.
      Current projects:
      -Acquire the Aurora
      -Test galatamine, huperzine and choline
-Find smartwatch app for RC reminders at certain intervals
-Ressurect my dream log here, and become more active

      Cool site, tnx.
I'm pretty close to the recommended specs for Far Cry 2, but Crysis..man it's a disaster. I barely make it through the minimun specs

Does that always work, or is that mission specific? Because I tried to set some forestry on fire once, and it just caught one guy on fire and went out like 30 seconds later.

This is a fun game though, I really enjoy it so far, except I feel like the free roam aspect of it seems a little forced. I'm not very far yet, but it seems completely unneccessary and aggravating to have to drive all the way across a goddamn island to get to some shitty little shack where some guy tells you to go back across the island to another shitty little shack.

But, it's still a lot of fun.

It depends on the weather, more windy, more grass sets alite. You can use bus stops to travel fast. Yeh it's fun because you do the missions anyway you like.

That was one thing I loved about the game, but it seamed sparse that good set pieces would work together, or that fire would prove useful. Shooting the same old guys got boring very very quickly (really really quickly...seriously, I had to stop after 4 hours of playing and I haven't picked it up since).

Part of that is due to the giant maps which are impossible to get any distance in by walking (another breaker for me). The maps are very dense though and it feels alive. Its a bit too rugged. Way way too clunky. But some of the nicest visuals in a game.

Multilayer aspect was horrible in my opinion (360), but it was obvious to me from the beginning that this game was made for the PC.

The map is a bit...too damn big, I can't drive a car for 5 seconds without having to look at my map to see where I'm at.

I also wish you could do co-op, it feels way too lonely and scary being on you're own.

and...its a hard game! I was playing it on easy and boy! its just a hard game.

I was having fun with this game, but then it kept deleting my save files. I thought I was just forgetting to save, but then I saved like five times in a row, and it still brought me way back.... Now it's deleting all my far saves, and I'm back at like 8%....

Make backups every now and then?

The more saves I make, the farther the game seems to send me back. I've given up on backing it up.

      Oh my god!

So I was playing Farcry2, and I started driving this car right? About 10 minutes later, I finally got to my mission marker, where I had to drive all the way across the giant map again! 15 minutes later I ran into an enemy camp where I proceeded to shoot the guys, then fix my broken vehicle, then drive more.

Eventually I remembered that Far Cry isn't Oblivion, and shouldn't be played like it. It was also then that I realized that Far Cry 2 is essentially a very pretty game, but fails to realize that you can't do a first person shooter in a giant world, and just expect everyone to drive for 10 minutes on end and hope to be impressed by the realism (aka wasting fucking time).
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.

Completely agree, it pretty much handicaps a game like this.

Fuck Far Cry, go Fallout 3.

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.

Fallout 3 is pretty fun to watch actually, but blowing off limbs and shooting mobs of monsters mixed with gangsters and mutants gets a bit ridiculous.

I fucking love Fallout 3. You know, when I started, I thought eventually I'd get bored of blowing off shits limbs in slow motion. I was wrong. Dead wrong. I'm still impressed everytime it zooms up on my bullet as it goes into the guys head in slow motion, and blows all his limbs all across the room. Or when I punch someone in the face, and his legs fall off. Priceless.

Ending was a bit disappointing, but I'd still say it's one of the best damn FPS/RPG games I've ever played.
