Oh my, I haven't seen this in so many years. I loved this movie! And you're right, even for being made back then, that puppet would still trump many of the puppets made today. I think I'll have to get this movie again now |

Ok, seriously...is this not one of the greatest movies ever?? Lol. I haven't seen this in so long, but I was talking to someone about Steve Martin, earlier, and I remembered that he was in this, so I went on Youtube and started watching scenes from it. Love it. Audrey II is the most awesome puppet ever made. Ever. And Levi Stubbs was the most amazing possible voice for him. |

Heh. I just can't get over how well-done the animatronics are. Every little subtle movement is captured. When he's talking on the phone to Audrey, and his branch is just kinda twirling the phone cord around like people do with their fingers; when he gets the coin for the phone and grins; and when he's telling her to get him some water and his tendrils start wrapping around her...It's just so crazy-lifelike. Practically every syllable is captured, when he's talking. It's just amazing. You're right, we hardly see that sort of expertise anymore, especially with something as complex as animatronics. |

Absolutely. And with things going into the realm of CG now, well, looks like there's going to be nothing else like this any time soon. Every bit of the skin around Audrey's mouth seems to quiver as he speaks as well, as opposed to being like a few bulky, stiff pieces of puppetwork that are so common otherwise. |

I haven't seen that in so long. I gotta watch it tomorrow, I got it on my Apple TV somewhere |

Lol. I love the little squeal he does in the "Feed Me" song, at 1:52, when he says "Like deliver, pal! AAAH!!" Rofl. Hilarious. |
