Check him out. He's fucking sweet. He has a show on the sci fi channel called "Mind Control with Derren Brown". Some of the shit he does is CRAZY. There are also tons of clips of him on youtube. I seriously advise that you watch some of what he does. I'm learning a lot of his techniques already. He's a fucking psych genius. And for those of you who think it's fake, it's not. It's completely real. I've learned how to do some of the things he does effectively myself. Skeptics aught to like him. Lol..

hey man, I love Derren Brown's work, as well as being a great psychologist and hypnotist, his memory is amazing! I've been looking for somewhere or something that will teach me some of his techniques. Would you tell me where you learnt his techniques? Cheers

What about when he puts people he's never seen before to sleep with a click of the fingers, makes people pass out for hours by flashing lights at them in photo booths, makes people forget his shows by telling them to not look at the light. Claiming he does it all by mind games alone no magical abillity involved, nah he's either fake, or a lier. IMO I don't like the way he claims that everything paranormal/spiritual is fake and then says he is for real. Though he is good entertainment and enjoyable to watch.

Well, I'm no psychologist, but since I somehow see how complex the human brain is, I see no reason to believe it's fake or that he's a lier. He never said that anything was fake, he is just doesn't believe in such paranormal things. I don't see what paranormal/spiritual things have to do with what he's doing. Showmanship, what that the subject is infact acting when he pretends to fall asleep infront of the flashing lights? I agree that if he explicitaly states this then fair enough. Didn't know he said all that though. I was just saying that him trying to claim that something else is fake, and then claming that his own fake acts are for real, bares a trademark of a complete idiot.

I saw the instant conversion episodes, when he touched atheists, the way those healers or someting do, and made them "believers". He is not religious and he wanted to show us that he could do it too. So yes, he is calling them fake, by saying that it's only psychology. He did similar stuff to with his mind reading etc.

I was watching his videos for the past few hours, and i am pretty sure he is not a fake. You can just see it in his methods. Hell, i am gonna research it and try some of the shits, tommorow. I can pretty much think of some way to make my teachers put me a higher marks, using his methods. It is pretty damn cool.

Bare in mind that Derren Brown is also a showman and illusionist. He does have quite some unique skills that take a lot of time and talent, but some of his stuff is, arguably, about the viewer getting fooled more than anything else. Lots of distractions and all kinds of stuff that might make you think that he's "in the know" when actually the trick might be much simpler but hardly obversable. Well, he's a magician. But a lot of the mind-control stuff is still genuine. For example, Russian Roulette didn't have a real gun, as Derren claimed. Also the origin of the guy is unclear. On YouTube, someone who appeared on Derren's show actually posted a video reply claiming that he was a paid stooge and nothing more. Search for it... "staring competition". Haven't heard much on that matter though.

I still find his show interesting, but someone on another place I go to pointed out to another guys show. He will go into places using similar methods and then get people to believe or do things. He got one group of people to rob a van. It was all staged so nobody would really get hurt, but it was amazing with just a little bit of mind use the people who were normal doing stuff crazy like that.

I love Derren Brown more because he has a real sense of theatre, or performance, that overrides my worrying as to how genuine he is. He's funny, he creates a real sense of drama and excitement...I love his shows, and want to read his books. Oh, and LOL for Mes.

i know this is an extremly old post but i found it by searching it,did anyone see an "evening of wonders" was on last night.if anyone is a big fan of derrens work i suggest you watch this because i am a huge fan and this stage show,watch it, is spectacular! I've seen him do that show (or what was probably a similar one) live around mid 2008. I missed it on channel four though...was there a part where he started reading minds randomly? He does some amazing things, although I think it really can be based on statistics, psychology, misdirection etc., as he likes to mimic what 'psychics' sometimes used to do and disprove its supernatural part.
