      Need Wii recommendations

I really really like puzzle games like Penumbra or Silent Hill. Something with a good story line in it and isn't just some lame puzzle game like Sodoku or some block matching color game.

Also, it can't be really gorey either. My Grandma owns a Wii, and my little cousin plays it and she might be too young to be playing games that are really gorey.

Well, I can't really think of many games that would be considered "puzzlers" that aren't "lame block matching games"

I think you're getting a bit confused here, Silent Hill is a horror game. An adventure or other game with puzzles in it doesn't make it a puzzle game.

Silent Hill had plenty of puzzles.

I should have been a little more clear. By a puzzle game, I meant a game with puzzles in it. Something that requires logical skills and stuff.

How about the new Metroid Prime? I haven't played the new one, but the previous one had quite a few puzzles and was pretty mild in face of most of today's fps.

      Oh shut up. lol

Silent Hill is awesome and has pretty decent puzzles but there's probably better out there for what you're looking for (ie. brain age of some sort).

It's not an FPS, it's First Person Adventure.

Also, I know Silent Hill had puzzles, I'm just saying when you say "puzzle games", most people don't assume that you mean games with puzzles in them.

To be even more needlessly specific, it's actually a First Person Action-Adventure

That part is OK I guess, but calling it an FPS is different, Action/Adventure is fine, whether you say Action or Action-Adventure.

You guys need to be a little less specific with your game genres...

Well, game genres do tend to be overly specific. You'd figure a game in which you move from stage to stage whilst fighting enemies in your path would be called...you know. A fighting game. But nah, they call it a beat 'em up.

Anyway, I know what kind of game you're talking about, but unfortunately there's still not very much out there for the Wii that would satisfy that particular preference. Nothing but Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy and Paper Mario.

Kinda sad that even the PS3 has a better library of games than the Wii...

      Okami

I don't think its really considered puzzle though. But I tell you, its worth every penny. Best game I've ever played.
But then again, I'm into adventure games. Like Zelda.

That's what I was going to suggest. My little brother just finished this game, and it looked great. It is a lot like Zelda, if that is your cup of tea. It was a huge cult game when it was released for the PS2.

Not really. All of the consoles have a good lineup of games, it just depends on your tastes. The Wii has lots of niche titles.

^Well yeah, I was speaking subjectively, because personally, I just can't get into those overly family friendly "party games" that spew outta Nintendo's ass at such a quick and rushed rate, while Nintendo's more prestigious titles like Zelda, Star Fox, etc. are put on hold for some damn reason.

In fact, I heard that one of the head producers of the Star Fox series, Dylan Cuthbert, doesn't even want anything to do with a Wii Star Fox title, because it'll most likely come out...family friendly...

Not all Wii games are family friendly mini-game packages, most of the ones I have aren't like that.

I would prefer something that isn't too family friendly

I'm waiting for the Silent Hill "re-envisioning", Metroid other M and the new Zelda to come out... oh and Red Steel 2 looks pretty promising - the first one was terrible.

Okami is an amazing game but I've only played it on the ps2.. so if you don't have it yet I would recomend getting it for the Wii.

They're the same, only difference is the Wii version has more colors in the graphics, the PS2 version is less colorful. The Wii remote isn't as big of an advantage as it seems.
