The steam version sucks thoroughly. I can't believe anyone would vouch for that filth, it really shows what kind of a company squeenix has become. They couldn't even be bothered adding the original soundtrack or updated graphics for that matter. Essentially they just put DRM on an otherwise perfectly working game.

I love ff8 but only on psx. The game itself feels extremely different when you are used to ff7. You notice it too when you talk to fans, 90% of all people who played ff7 first will love it over ff8, and the 90% of people who played ff8 first will love it over ff7. Personally I find the mechanics very intriguing (I like grinding) and the storyline has a place in my heart being the first ff I played.

Even if you don't like the game though, you gotta admit that thing has some of the best cutscenes ever made.

My father bought this huge LSD and now I'm wondering how it would feel to play skyrim in a huge HD screen....:D

I am playing smash bros brawl again trying to beat event 41 on normal/hard [only event I havnt beet on hrd]. Not even gonna try 1p intense all-star for a while. also, gta, minecraft (which I am too good at), Rayman Origins, maybe start resident evil 4 or beat Metroid Prime, and I am SOOO close to beating fzerogx

I've been playing a bit of Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed, and it is a fun race game with, as Marvo said, crazy good level design. Rust was starting to feel a little dangerous to my mental health and view of humanity :paranoid: I haven't abandoned it, but I'm taking a break. I've started a couple games of Civ V, too, but wasn't getting into it.

Aaaaaaand Rust has its hooks in me again. I was watching a LoL streamer try out Rust on Twitch and jumped on the server he was on, and had some good luck getting set up there. I ended up recruiting a partner and then bringing a couple guys over from a team on another server, and we have a good base going. There are so many different ways to play this game.

already posted here once but hey why not post again. i found this really amazing and addicting game the other day. i have barely even started in it and i already love it! its called Neptune's Pride, its a space conquest strategy game where you build up your empire and capture planets (called Stars in the game) to win the game you must own half of the galaxy. i didn't think i was really into strategy games but i was bored one day and decided to try something new. so glad i did! :D i am always so awful at all other MMOs but i may have found a game i might be good at.

any other Neptune players here?

I started playing the Blackguards demo. The PC isn't exactly saturated with games like Disgaea, so I was kinda stoked to see this. It's definitely worth trying the demo out if you're slightly interested, partially just because the demo is huge. I started playing it and though, "OK, I'll get a tidbit of the story, maybe two tutorial battles, then I'll have to buy it." Actually, I've played for a few hours now. I just looked it up, and you get about the first 6-8 hours worth of content in the demo.

Which is cool... but also kinda sucks. Cause I dig the game, and by the time I DO reach the end of the demo, I'll probably be sucked into the game enough to actually buy it for it's full price so I can continue. Generally, I don't like to buy games unless they on sale for 50% off or more. I'm a cheapskate.


But yea. Lots of battles, and you can manually customize/improve each characters' gear/stats/abilities. It seems to be pretty linear and story-driven, but again it's similar to Disgaea in that the story is told in quick, bite-sized pieces rather than having to sit through/read through drawn-out dialogue segments.

Edit: Oh yea, and it's not always just "Kill everyone on the screen." Some of the battles have objectives you need to complete as well, which adds more strategy. Lots of cool stuff.

Pixel dungeon is by far the best free game on the android app market. F*** all those who say a game can't be great and ad free. It's literally sucking up all my free hours.

Also have been playing a rhythm game called osu! lately.
I bought Final Fantasy XIII today, so I'll probably be playing that as well.

It's not a good sign when the only 2 mmorpg you feel like playing only exist as anime (SAO and especially Log Horizon) xD

FFXIII is worth it just for the awesome cinematics alone. Gameplay is so-so. Eventually you finally get to an open-world setting but the enemies are much stronger than you and you have to run around grinding weaker monsters until you can move on. I got bored at that part and quit.

Right now I am playing Killzone Shadowfall. Great graphics, so-so gameplay, how I feel about a lot of games these days. I haven't tried multiplayer yet though, that's supposed to be good.

Loving Far Cry at the moment. By now I would have got bored and moved on to a new game, but I'm surprising myself.

Re-playing Incredible Machine; even more contraptions. this game is absolutely brilliant, I get such a thrill just listening to the music...

I just beat Episode 2 of The Wolf Among Us. Dat plot twist, tho...

I also bought the Mass Effect Trilogy. I think I'm about halfway through the first one. The character creator is shit, so I used the default appearance.

My sister got Sonic Generations, so I'm playing that too.

I'm playing Dark Souls... Really intense. Struggling with the Bell Gargoyles. The game just seems utterly massive from what I've seen, I don't know how I'm supposed to get through it all. But it's exciting. Exciting to repeatedly be faced with seemingly unavoidable death. Even though you have to keep running through the same areas, killing the same enemies again and again, there's a sweet sense of progress when the boss battle goes a little better and when the run to the boss gets easier and easier as you learn how to kill the enemies efficiently.

I think I will get it, it looks pretty good. I'll post on here after, though, just to let you all know. I haven't actually played any others from this series.
I kinda wish they'd make one like Thief that's set in present day times, too.

I play Devil May Cry 4, every day I give the Bloody Palace a shot. It's a really badass fighting game, slaying demons in all kinds of ways. It is also a big source of dreaming food, if I can just get this lding going.
