I just watched this and I'm intrigued. I thought it was bizarre but engrossing. I can't help but feel the message is of the futility of asking 'why'. That's why the main character was a quantum physicist; quantum physics is absurd. You don't ask why, you just do the math and carry on with your life. That's how you get results.

All scientists; given that the theory is the result of the scientific method. No, not all scientists agree with it. I am not talking about all aspects of quantum physics. It is the Heisenberg Principle and the notion of randomness that are going to eventually be annihilated. That stuff is based on poor use of the scientific method. It involves a conclusion of absence based on the fact that nothing was found. That is not logical. As I said in the other thread, the randomness principle has not been reconciled with general relativity, and Einstein flat out said it is wrong. I don't think that just anything Einstein said about physics is automatically right, but he is a great example of a scientist who disagreed with the idea of randomness.

It's already been formally proven that the randomness is real. I'm not sure how you'd try to reconcile phenomena such as wave particle duality with your idea of logical either, but let's keep that in the right thread, this is for the film.

It's already released. :l I'm surprised nobody's heard of this film. The Coen brothers are pretty famous, and this film was up for a few Oscars.

Pretty interesting movie. I agree with Xei about the fuitality of asking "why?", but I think it's also saying that you shouldn't always follow tradition just because it's tradition.
