      Reccomend me some psychadelic rock?

      All I'll say is:
Pink Floyd, Tool, Yes. Mostly Tool and Yes.

I'm a big fan of The Doors and The Who, but for some reason Grateful Dead is just one of those bands I never looked into. I'll need to change that as soon as I boot my desktop back up

If you're into prog rock, check out some of the sub-genre's classic psych acts. Gong and Hawkwind are pretty big and have a lot of diverse music to offer. Also check out Ozric Tentacles, crazy good atmospheric psych. For Gong I'd recommend "Angel's Egg" and "You". For Hawkwind "Warrior on the Edge of Time" and "Space Ritual". For Ozrics check out "Jurassic Shift", "Erpland", or "Strangitude".

If you like any of these bands let me know, that'll give way to more recommendations. Especially Ozric Tentacles, many bands now are using their template.

I didn't realise The Who ever did psychedelic stuff?

Anyway, uhm... bit of a no-brainer but Sgt Pepper is pretty good.

      Screamadelica is pretty good.

      Definately.

I like Hawkwind a lot, something different, very good. Ozric Tentacles, too. I especially like the song "Erpland". Not as much variation from them as I would like, but still good.

Btw, you spelled psychedelic wrong in the title

Maybe check out some Janis Joplin.

      and Hendrix

Just making sure you don't miss this (The album Volunteers will probably be what you're looking for)

And Grateful Dead didn't do anything that wasn't psychedelic

      Iron Butterfly

      Byrds

      Kaleidoscope

      The United States of America

      H.P.. Lovecraft

      Maybe also Cream

Sphongle isn't rock, but very psychedelic:

What always really reminds me of Pink Floyd is Air, especially the Soundtrack of 'The Virgin Suicides'

Then check out the soundtracks of the movies Hair ('let the sunshine in' - get it?)

      and Psych Out.

The following are rather progressive than psychedelic

If you like Prog Rock,.. hm, Fear of a Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree (Check out the song Anesthetize)

      King Crimson

      Emerson Lake and Palmer

and since you referenced Tool, maybe check out Dream Theatre?

And just because I think it fits, check out World's End Girlfriend:

Alex Grey is the visual artist behind tool, you should check him out.

If your child ain't all he should be now
This girl could put him right.
I'll show him what he could be now
      Just give me one night.
I'm the Gypsy - the acid queen.
      Pay before we start.
      I'm the Gypsy - I'm guaranteed.
      I'll tear your soul apart.

Give us a room, close the door
      Leave us for a while.
Your boy won't be a boy no more
      Young, but not a child.
I'm the Gypsy - the acid queen.
      Pay before we start.
      The Gypsy - I'm guaranteed.
      I'll tear your soul apart.

Gather your wits and hold on fast,
Your mind must learn to roam.
Just as the Gypsy Queen must do
      You're gonna hit the road.

My work is done now look at him
      He's never been more alive.
His head it shakes his fingers clutch.
      Watch his body rise!
I'm the Gypsy - the acid queen.
      Pay before we start.
      I'm the Gypsy - I'm guaranteed.
      To break your little heart.

It's not even the least bit hidden.

In my opinion, Tommy in it's entirety is pretty psychedelic...

Roger Dean is probably the only artist I like more.

Some good stuff there that I haven't heard before. I'll have to come back later when I have more time so I can give it all a proper listen.

Nice, I'll try to get a bit more obscure for you then.

Hidria Spacefolk - These guys make music with a similar atmosphere to the Ozrics, but with a very different sound. If you find the Ozrics to be a bit samey then Hidria is your band, their music is more diversified. All of their albums are pretty solid, haven't listened to them in a while but I remember preferring their third the most.

Kingston Wall - These guys are closer to straight-up hard rock most of the time, but they're massively psychedelic and get quite proggy as well. Check out their second album, its great. First is more garage-y while the third is still good, but a bit watered down compared to the other two. Unfortunately a very short-lived band for their talent, I believe the lead singer committed suicide just as they started to get really big in Finland.

Korai Öröm - Another Ozric type band, again with a more diversified sound. They started out doing organic, world influenced type stuff that was pretty repetitive. However they keep changing their sound and its gotten much more rock oriented since 2000. I'd recommend everything after that, especially 2005. *drool*

Hmm, I'm really liking that Kingston Wall, especialy the first one. It's a shame they were so short-lived.

Ephrat - Israeli band with prog tendancies.

Frank Zappa - you probably know who he is anyway

The Growing Concern - old 1968 band, found them when looking through DJ Shadow samples

Kayo Dot - They may not fit with what you're looking for, being more metal, BUT I DON'T CARE. THEY'RE FUCKING GOOD. You'd be hard pressed for something that sounds more psychedelic.

Mr Bungle - Mike Patton is god to some. Not me, but he's a very talented vocalist, and the rest of it's pleasurably weird.
