So...let me try to understand here...
...those people that say they are tired of "Bush Bashing" believe that there is no reason to "Bash Bush," or are they just saying that because they don't like to hear anyone get bashed, and just figure Bush to be no exception?
I only ask, because I've yet to see a case made for a reason to ignore all of the things that he is obviously doing that could be next to Irreversible by the time his term is over.
He's lied to the American people about not knowing the extent of Katrina's damage until Days after the fact.
He lied to Mike Brown about being Ready for Katrina when he was told, beforehand, of the devistation Katrina would cause.
He lied about securing the background of Dubai Ports firm before holding that anyone who would pass legislation in opposition of the deal would be vetoed, a deal he said he Didn't Even Know about, days before stating that position.
He lied about saying that No One had brought him reasonable opposition to the DP deal.
His Entire Legacy is based on Homeland Security, when anyone with ill-will toward America can hop a plane or boat down to the south and all but Walk-In to our country through the borders that the administration hardly seems to even recognize are compromised?
The ports have already been stated as the "Easiest way to smuggle a WMD into America," ports with cargo that is at most 4% inspected, and in this, a time of war, he sells our ports to a foreign government entity with noted, not-long-since ties to Al Qaeda; ties that, when asked by congress if "Anyone can answer me the basic question of, Do We Know that the people associated with DP, now, aren't the same as those that were affiliated with Al Qaeda that were involved with DP a few years ago?" caused everyone on the bench from Homeland Security to silence themselves with deer-in-headlights expressions?
The police force, after 9/1,1 are given order to use deadly force at the sign of overly-suspicious behavior, travel security searches were bottle-necked mainly to middle eastern patrons after 9/11 and the administration puts up the deterrent that anyone opposed to the port deal is advocating ill-will or "the wrong message" toward Arabs?
Our American workers, en masse, are losing their jobs and livelyhoods to the outsourcing of their established trades to foreign (aka cheaper) workers.
He's been spitting the same BS rhetoric about fundamental issues like Healthcare for the past five years, refusing to admit that is not going to be his claim to fame and his goal is focused solely on Homeland Security, which is turning out to be more of a joke than many pro-Bush people are refusing to acknowledge.
We don't even Own most of the trade ships that carry our cargo worldwide. We pay other countries' fleets to fly our flags and our cargo on their ships.
Should we Really Even Get Started about the war in Iraq?
Oh, and Michael Chertoff should not have a job. After lying about not being properly briefed about Katrina's destruction, he's going to defend the port deal by saying that the need for economic ties with the UAE is comparable to the need for Homeland Security? (Just thought I'd throw that in.)
Point is, the reason people "Bash Bush" (I call it giving an opinion, but whateva') is because the man Represents Our Country. Our lives and our livelyhoods are in his hands. He's lied numerously obvious times to the american people and continues to go on about his agenda with the "I'm doing this because I can" machismo.
As the American People we have the right to assess the way we feel about Any president. Bush is No exception. Sure, maybe there are things that counter some of the views that are expressed, but I've yet to see a competent list put together, so I'm open to it if anyone wants to give us "Reason's not to even discuss negative feelings about Bush."
Otherwise "Bashing Bush" or "Justly expressing a negative opinion of Bush" (whatever you label it as) is no different, and no more criminal than siblings discussing being (what they feel as) abused by their own parents. Only someone with the strict and explainable belief that what is going on is Not Abuse can rightly tell the siblings not to "Bash Their Parents."
Anybody here fit that analogy? If so, I'd love for everyone to have a real point/counterpoint discussion about their feelings on the administration, so maybe people will start to understand why others are pro/anti Bush.
Everybody wins.
