Meh, not like it matters. The current president of Iran believes that the apocolypse will happen within the next 2 years. This is why he wants to develop nuclear weapons.

      Seriously.

      No jokes.

okay i'm about sick of this bush bashing bull schitt.

our ports are not safe. george bush had nothing to do with this fact. 2% of all cargo shipped into the US is actually checked by security agents. now with this in our shallow knowledge banks we can assume that YOU DO NOT NEED TO OWN THE DOCKS TO MOVE ILLEGAL THINGS THROUGH THEM. @%@^%@!

I hate politics, but I also grow tired of hearing everyone bash on Bush. I'm on a college campus in Missoula, Montana (a big blue dot in the middle of a red state) so I hear more about it than a lot of people do. Do I approve of everything he does? No, but he sure has access to a lot more information than I do. The American people voted for him, so let him finish out his term and then we can start the mud-slinging all over again.

In the mean time, this should be kept in the Extended Discussion forum.

...... you can continue arguing. I just thought I'd throw my two cents in there. Just be civil

So...let me try to understand here...

...those people that say they are tired of "Bush Bashing" believe that there is no reason to "Bash Bush," or are they just saying that because they don't like to hear anyone get bashed, and just figure Bush to be no exception?

I only ask, because I've yet to see a case made for a reason to ignore all of the things that he is obviously doing that could be next to Irreversible by the time his term is over.
He's lied to the American people about not knowing the extent of Katrina's damage until Days after the fact.
He lied to Mike Brown about being Ready for Katrina when he was told, beforehand, of the devistation Katrina would cause.
He lied about securing the background of Dubai Ports firm before holding that anyone who would pass legislation in opposition of the deal would be vetoed, a deal he said he Didn't Even Know about, days before stating that position.
He lied about saying that No One had brought him reasonable opposition to the DP deal.
His Entire Legacy is based on Homeland Security, when anyone with ill-will toward America can hop a plane or boat down to the south and all but Walk-In to our country through the borders that the administration hardly seems to even recognize are compromised?
The ports have already been stated as the "Easiest way to smuggle a WMD into America," ports with cargo that is at most 4% inspected, and in this, a time of war, he sells our ports to a foreign government entity with noted, not-long-since ties to Al Qaeda; ties that, when asked by congress if "Anyone can answer me the basic question of, Do We Know that the people associated with DP, now, aren't the same as those that were affiliated with Al Qaeda that were involved with DP a few years ago?" caused everyone on the bench from Homeland Security to silence themselves with deer-in-headlights expressions?
The police force, after 9/1,1 are given order to use deadly force at the sign of overly-suspicious behavior, travel security searches were bottle-necked mainly to middle eastern patrons after 9/11 and the administration puts up the deterrent that anyone opposed to the port deal is advocating ill-will or "the wrong message" toward Arabs?
Our American workers, en masse, are losing their jobs and livelyhoods to the outsourcing of their established trades to foreign (aka cheaper) workers.
He's been spitting the same BS rhetoric about fundamental issues like Healthcare for the past five years, refusing to admit that is not going to be his claim to fame and his goal is focused solely on Homeland Security, which is turning out to be more of a joke than many pro-Bush people are refusing to acknowledge.
We don't even Own most of the trade ships that carry our cargo worldwide. We pay other countries' fleets to fly our flags and our cargo on their ships.

Should we Really Even Get Started about the war in Iraq?

Oh, and Michael Chertoff should not have a job. After lying about not being properly briefed about Katrina's destruction, he's going to defend the port deal by saying that the need for economic ties with the UAE is comparable to the need for Homeland Security? (Just thought I'd throw that in.)

Point is, the reason people "Bash Bush" (I call it giving an opinion, but whateva') is because the man Represents Our Country. Our lives and our livelyhoods are in his hands. He's lied numerously obvious times to the american people and continues to go on about his agenda with the "I'm doing this because I can" machismo.
As the American People we have the right to assess the way we feel about Any president. Bush is No exception. Sure, maybe there are things that counter some of the views that are expressed, but I've yet to see a competent list put together, so I'm open to it if anyone wants to give us "Reason's not to even discuss negative feelings about Bush."

Otherwise "Bashing Bush" or "Justly expressing a negative opinion of Bush" (whatever you label it as) is no different, and no more criminal than siblings discussing being (what they feel as) abused by their own parents. Only someone with the strict and explainable belief that what is going on is Not Abuse can rightly tell the siblings not to "Bash Their Parents."

Anybody here fit that analogy? If so, I'd love for everyone to have a real point/counterpoint discussion about their feelings on the administration, so maybe people will start to understand why others are pro/anti Bush.

      Everybody wins.

Scroll down to: "watch..." in the middle of the article.
It's not the video I think you're talking about, in full, but it shows a clip from it; where Bush & Co are assuring Mike Brown that they're ready.

Yup. There's another in the "Katrina Tapes" section called "The warnings Bush received" that's pretty telling, also. Good find, Tony.

Uproar scenes were witnessed in Lok Sabha (Lower House of Indian Parliament) yesterday over the US security personnel taking their sniffer dog close to Father of the nation, Mahatama Gandhi' Samadhi(cemetery) at Rajghat just before US President George W Bush's arrival there yesterday to pay his obeisance.

US President George W. Bush’s visit to Rajghat generated a controversy today after US secret service agents, who were accompanied by a sniffer dog of the K9 squad, checked the marble structure, leaving the staff of Gandhi Samadhi fuming but helpless.

This took place just before the US President arrived to pay his obeisance at the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. The staff was upset when US security personnel took their sniffer dog on the pathway around the memorial of the father of the nation. They said this was the first time a dog was brought so close to the memorial of the venerated figure.[/b]
What you think ? I dont think it as a problem. But my friends are very angry.

I think it gives much less credibility to the "Sending the wrong message to foreigners" defense of the port deal.

While I can't say whether or not it was necessary, I do understand why Indians would be insulted.

I live in utah. A FEIRCE red state. And i'm purple, independent. I don't like bush, but i hated John Kerry. I look for both sides of the arguement. Your all liberal so here... look at this...(though I don't think you will, i think liberals are just as ignorant as conservatives)

That's just for starters. You all seem to forget that every arguement has two sides.
And remember, the media is prodominently liberal...

Don't attack me. I'm not a Bush supporter, nor am I a Bush Basher. I'm just trying to show both sides of the issue, since none of you will.

I think the Crypts, and the blo... err... the republicans and the democrates are just mudslinging. Either side will take any fact and contort it to attack their opponent and make themselves look good.

how on earth can you make that assumption? being opposed to bush doesn't mean one is neccessarily 'liberal'.

i loathe bush, and disagree with kerry on many issues as well. but i'd rather the lesser of two evils (though most of all a third option.)

for all you know, every person that posted here is an independent like yourself, or socialist, or anarchist, or....

      1) Everyone with an established political stance is ignorant in their own right.

      2) Not everyone that doesn't like Bush has an established political stance. (You are proof, Draco, are you not?)

      3) To say that levees that were made to withstand a Cat 3 hurricane could not be anticipated to break during a Cat 5 hurricane is like saying a Honda that can withstand a head-on collision with another Honda "can't be anticipated" to be totalled during an impact with an 18 wheeler. Though I Will give the benefit of the doubt to Bush's "clarification" of it.

      4) For Anyone(s) who oversee(s) the security of the people of our country, dismissing any possible levee break after hearing "We heard a(one) report unconfirmed, I think, we have not breached the levee. I think we have not breached the levee at this time," is a failure in and of itself.

And in case I was included in your assumption about "all of us being liberal," Draco, I think it appropriate to say that I didn't vote for either side because they both seemed like horrible choices.
