      2012 theory

Ok first thing I want to say is that I don't really believe in the end of the world, and I don't really believe in 2012 stuff. For this theory though I am going to assume that 2012 may be true. The reason I am posting this is because I havn't seen anyone who really went in the direction I am going to take, and though I don't believe it, I think if some thing was going to happen, this would be the most likely. Every thing I am going to post is going to based on stuff we know, and I am not making any guesses and I am not going to post any random events to explain things. A lot of it might sound like conspiracy theory, but a lot of people believe that stuff so I am going to use it.

The first thing to understand is the idea that many people believe that the global elite, want to create an new world government. You can actually see that in things like the europian union and to a lesser extent nafta. Infact the UN has been pushing for a lot more power lately, they want international courts, they want to ban firearms in all countries, be able to override member countries laws with international laws, they have even said they wanted their own army. Then you look at things like the bilderberg group and you can get a sense that, powerful people from all around the world do infact meet to secretly discuss things.

Now if you understand that many powerful people who run much of the world have a goal, and that goal is to form a single world government, we can move on to the next part. Which is that many of the big "secret" organizations, such as the illuminati, skull and bones, bohemian grove, free masons all have something in common. Actually two things, one they are all full of powerful people and are probably connected and the second, is the occult.

This is where 2012 comes in. They believe in stuff like occultism and numerology. 2012 could very well be a self fulfilling prophecy. 2012 may just be a normal year but because they believe in that stuff, they may actually try to push for something big in that year.

If you are a person who believes 9/11 was done by the government then you probably likely believe that the government is trying to gain control of the population of the US. If you look around it is clear that the government is pushing for more control. If you wanted to take the next step however, you could say the US government is trying to move towards a fasces state. If you believe that then its not a far leap to believe that in the future, perhapes 2012 the US many finally declear martial law and turn the US into a police state, once there it will be easy to bring the entire world into one world government.

If you look, 2012 is a presidental election year in the US. It may be that the world government elite will decided to pick someone to be elected to president who will declear martial law and dismantal the US, the biggest countries in the world. Once the US population is disarmed and under control, with our massive military and huge supply of nuclear weapons, we could easily bring the rest of the world under our control. Infact many of them who are ran under socialist governments may be very happy to create a one world government. It would be their dream.

So there you have it. Maybe the big thing in 2012 will be the creation of a new world government. If you believe everything I said, then you would see there is a clear goals, and plans created by people to do something in 2012. Is that likely? I dont know but what I do know is that its more believable than a lot of the other stuff I have heard. Most of which are random things and lack any real details or bases in todays world. As for the end of the world, a singe world government would turn the world into hell on earth. So in a way, 2012 could be the end.

Actually both sides are pretty much the same thing as far as liberal vs conservative.

      Basically,

Our human consciousness is going to experience
      an orgasm.

There has been an evolutionary time-scale paradigm crescendo leading up to (what looks like to me) could be in 2012

      Dear Alric,

      Read some History.

The Best Times in the Past were when the largest sweeps of territory were under monolithic jurisdiction. The worst times in the Past were when you had multiple warring states.

The World prospered best in times of Peace, and Peace can only be the result of Government's having an absolute monopoly on Force.

No, America will not be part of any 2012 Utopian Dispensation. As you have pointed out, there are simply too many guns in America, and the American temperament too violent. Waht will happen, though, is that the dollar is collapse in value, and America will simply drop out of World Affairs -- to starve, or die at its own violent hand, by some National Suicide. But the rest of the World will be able to forget America, just as the World now is more than able to forget about Africa and its self-wrought problems of greed and violence.

Are we reading the same histroy here leo? When has large government ever brought about peace? When has government having an absolute monopoly on Force ever been a good thing? Was it a good thing in nazi germany? Was it a good thing in the soviet union? Um what about cambodia under pol pot, north korea under kim il-sung, the list just goes on.

When has a totalitarian government ever brought about peace? When has government control of all force, ever brought about anything good? If anything government monopoly on force brings about genocide not peace.

Your normally pretty accurate on historical matters but in this case its clear you don't know as much as you think you do.

The Pax Romana -- the 200 years of Peace and Prosperity that forged the cultural identity of Latin Europe. Then there are the four or five very successful Chinese Dynasties.

We even have the Political Theory from the ancient Greek Philosophers who had enough contact with History to know that Strong Governments could guarantee Prosperous Peaces while any concessions to private power and democracy would lead inevitably to disasterous levels of disorder. They actually preferred Dictatorships to Democracy since they could at least establish the Order out of which any Royal Bureaucracy could arise.

We have the modern example of America, which after it effectively Centralized after their Bloody Constitutional Crisis of a Civil War, has used its Political Unity to become the Only Superpower in the World. That is, until the Chinese are able to surpass them. The Chinese, striving for even more Order and Stability, will become even more Prosperous and Strong. For instance, while America and the West are barely able to sustain any positive growth at all, being worried of falling into Recession, the Chinese, under their Strong Government is growing at 10% a year. There biggest problem is keeping up with themselves.

Then we have the counterindications. We can see that a divided Europe collapsed into some disasterous World Wars. We can see that where a United Yugoslavia was actually beginning to prosper (remember the Yugo brand Automobile?), when its central government collapsed, so did its prosperity, and now they all look to Unite with the even larger Conglomerate of the United Europeans.

Oh, and if the United Europeans can actually unite -- if they find a Common Language, such as Esperanto , and can finally suppress various expressions of Nationalizm to the point where Frenchmen and Germans actually begin to think of themselves as Europeans first (the way most Americans think of themselves as Americans and hardly consider their state affiliations until they need a drivers license). For instance, not since the Civil War has the American Army organized itself with State Regiments, but mixes soldiers from every region together. But Europe definitely needs a Common Language. if NOT Esperanto, then the Linguists from all across Europe should get together and create a new compromise language with enough elements from every major European language to keep everybody happy.

it should be commented here that any basic language is easy. The exceptions to the rules is what makes everything difficult. If a language were to be newly designed to have no exceptions and to be straightforward, then a few semesters of study would be sufficient to make any half-intelligent person conversive.

Now, a lot of people point to the popularity of English, but even there, I would be most in favor of some team of liguists to jump in and streamline the Language -- to weed out the exceptions, the gramatical complexities and redundancies, and the bazaar mix of spellings -- all the goose-geese, mice-mouse crap.

But just look at any historic upsurge in Civilization at any time in History. Strong Government was there in the Good Times. And the Collapses came only when Governments were defeated by private wealth in either conscious or unconscious partnership with barbaric anarchists and pillagers.

That wasn't even total peace though. They still fought with other countries. I will admit that its a common theme in history that countries can unite togather while they are warring other countries. They may very well have had some peace but only because they warred with other countries, most of which where weaker and less united than them. It would also be false to say, that there was no problems. During that time there was also many rebellions but they got squashed pretty quickly. So is that total peace? No, maybe "more" peaceful than before that time but it was far from ideal.

As for america, I would make the claim that the reason for our economic problems is because we have been gaining more and more government. As our government grows we get worse and worse off. As for the Chinese "prosperity", it really depends on who you ask doesn't it? As a country they are growing insanely fast, no doubt about that. As for the millions of homeless people who homes where destroyed, I am sure they would disagree.

Yes europe has had major problems but when they united under the europian union, things never got any better.

I think I see where you are comming from now. Big governments do tend to lead forward in advancement, the problem however is they do it on the backs of their people. While the national income increases, individuals incomes drops. As the governments power grows, the populations power weakens.

Like the examples I gave you. The sovet union was a super power, nazi germany had a great army and took over huge amounts of land. Of course the population of both suffered for it. Who cares if you live in a great nation if your a slave to it?

Evolution does not go in jumps but instead is a gradual process over the course of millions of years; I assume that we’re referring to biological evolution since he mentioned a general increase in intelligence. Furthermore, there is no such thing as “DEevolution”. With all do respect, I really don't believe that the author of that post was very Knowledgeable about biology at all.
      I can because I know I can.

What about at the end of the Golden Age, the Renaissance Era? No de-evolution there?

Hmm seeing as you want a few more replies Alric, I might as well have a bit of a ramble.

I really don't think it is even remotely likely, especially based on the evidence you've presented. Nothing personal at all, I just think the particular argument has few convincing points at all...

Increased globalisation and new technologies have certainly made the world a smaller place, and made the re-defining of global areas a viable issue. The European Union is one example, and I wouldn't be surprised if in the next few decades a few more similar Unions came about. As far as the United Nations is concerned, they already have their own army.

Do they? Not much evidence shown there...

It's a nice idea, maybe you need to straighten out your argument a little, because at the moment it seems a bit like wishful thinking.

Those would be cultural evolutions, not biological evolutions as the person in said topic supported.

I'm sorry, I really just have to laugh at all of this "End of the world" bullshit that comes up every few years. They said the world would end in 2000, then 2005, then 2007, but every year it gets closer to, someone comes up with a radically different idea and tries to forget about their past prophecies.

And so what if one time, they actually get it right? They'll shove it in everyone's faces and say, "Look what I did. See? You people should've listened to me." Listened to you when? The first 13,000,000 times you were wrong, or the one time you got lucky?

My opinion is that it's already quite evident that not a single person knows what the fuck is going to happen in the future. Nobody knows when the end of the world will be here, nobody knows if it's even gonna happen. So just live your lives people. Stop letting someone with a wild hair up their ass control your thinking patterns. Hell, if you research about the people that come up with this bullshit, you'll probably find out that you couldn't possibly agree with them on anything else.

      Seriously. Come on.

Well like I said I don't really think much of 2012. My main point was just to come up with a theory that was actually possible. All my points have a bases in fact, now will it go as far as I said? I don't know, but it sounds more reasonable than a random meteor crashing into earth and killing everyone on that exact day, or the earth just imploding one day in 2012.

I really don't think anything will happen in 2012, but if it does, its going to be something people do because they think it would be a good idea to do it on 2012 because people are scared of it or because they want to say their right or something like that. I don't believe some random act is going to occur and kill everyone off or anything like that.
