Well none of us knows, do we? Those who experience it can never tell us. All we can do is guess. Even an overwhelmingly strong feeling of what happens has no effect on what actually happens.

My personal guess is that we simply cease to exist.

It's very hard for most people to wrap their brain around the idea that they may one day no longer exist. But it really shouldn't be. After all, didn't you once before not exist? Why would it be impossible to go back to that?

I take comfort in knowing that billions of people have died. I will go through exactly the same thing they did, so im not really afraid.

This is always an interesting speculative topic, but there is only one thing that can be concluded without speculating: I don't know, and you don't either.
